Dealer issues HELP

I ordered black 2SS RS Stick at msrp on 7/17/09 and at the time was told that the dealer had open allocations and I should look to have my car sometime in the next 8 to 12 weeks now 7 weeks in I am still at 1100 After a incident where the salesman did not return calls/ email to confirm changes I wanted lead me to talk to the Owner he is telling me that he has 0 allocations for august and that even though my car at first priority there is a LT which will be built first because of the constraints. First am I wrong thinking that the first sales person was lying to me when he told me they had allocations available in july when I ordered also I am wondering is how likely am I to get my car anywhere close to the 12 week timetable or at least moving along. Should I just stick where I am or look for someone who can prove they have open allocations and how can I be sure that that dealer is not lying.

Find a dealer and a salesperson you can trust.

May not be the sales persons fault, but either way find a new dealership.

Start looking. Find out when your dealer is going to get the allocations. If they cannot give you a good answer go somewhere else.

well after your hit 2000 the estimated is 6-8 weeks,

so if you havent hit 2000 yet... and he doesnt have anymore for august... then maybe in october he gets 1 for your 2ss... then you have to wait 6-8 weeks after that...

my suggestion... there is a number in one of the post around in this part of the forums where you call GM marketing and they will find your car... or something very similiar in the states... and you can buy that one on lot and pick it up... do a search for GM marketing...

if you dont want to go that route, if you go to another dealer, explain to them you know about allocations and you know how the system works so they dont BS you around...

Good luck!

How would it not be the salesperson's fault? You either have an open allocation or you don't. I'm having the same problem too. If i'm willing to drop over 40k AND put 2k down for a deposit, at least have some respect and be clear with me about the situation. After that, I may or may not decide to go somewhere else.

"Open Allocations" and an order status of 1100 after 7 weeks = YOU WERE LIED TO.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Open allocation = an order code of 2000 a week or two later.

Ok thanks for the help I found some more info in another thread and put in an order with BeckyD@RodgersChevrolet and am at 2000. The dishonesty about there allocation situation, the lack of respect, failing to confirm changes and acting annoyed when I attempted to make them made me worry not only when I would get my car but what would they pull when I get the car. Now monday I have to cancel my order with lying #%#%^!!! at Premier Chevrolet in Brooklyn CT., (to warn anyone in the area) and get my $1500 deposit back. Any advice on how to go about that.

Alot of times the sales person isn't told if there are open locations. A typical sale manager will tell the sales person yes just to get the customer in. Not all dealers are like that but they are out there

I should add that I did not just deal with one person at Premier but two sales people and two managers, I think one was a co owner. To be fare not all were unpleasant the first sales person was quite nice, (or I would not have ordered), and I do not personally blame him I think the dishonesty came from higher up. The second manager/ owner I talked told me and showed my the allocation situation for august but made no mention as to what happened to the allocation they said they had in July so still no one has come clean and really at this point if they did I have no reason to have faith in their future actions.

Good luck on getting your deposit back. I just don't think it is fair or ethical for them to take your money for a deposit on the grounds that you'll be getting your car "in three weeks" when they know that will not happen. Keep us updated!

Hope you get your money back. Some dealers seem to lack information. May not be there fault. I will be happy when they finally deliver my car so I don't have to deal with them anymore. It was delivered by rail on Thursday but they are telling me they don't have a VIN yet.
