Its easy power coming outta a GM Smallblock. The engine is a masterpiece of power, tune-ability and efficiency.

Bump HP by 20-30hp
Decrease weight (some how) by about 100 lbs.
Those two changes would definately show up going down the 1/4 mile.

(A good .3 tenths or so in the 1/4 mile).

Also, the L99 needs a better factory tune. That all by itself would bump HP/TQ and make the car a lot more fun (less Torque management please). My L99 ran 12.9 @ 108/109 with just a good tune.

If they change the tune to grap a couple more ponies, wonder if we can upgrade to the more powerful tune and still have a warranty.

It will not be hard at all to get more HP ~ the C5 guys have proved that.

The 426 HP is plenty for me, but I am glad to see that they are looking to add even more to the 2012 model to maintain their lead on the Mustang.

they're aluminum... so you wouldn't get that much out of them.

btw, where did those specs come from? i'd like to know the specs on that mustang and if those runs are by people or ideal perfect-run scenarios...

It's a warp drive...... but seriously! In the first gens. the Z wasn't any more powerful than the SS so whats to say they do offer the 556 in the SS in 2012. At least 1 7/8" headers and 3" hi flow back with (cowl inducted) CAI + tune. I'm sure they read this and it is the most common mods that don't stress the drive-train just the warranty.

I would like to see them dump the L99 all together. Use the LS3 for both A6 and M6 and just use the gearing to avoid the gas guzzler tax, just like they did on the 4th gens and just like Ford is doing. For the A6, offer a 3.08 rear end to miss the gas guzzler tax, and the 3.55 or 3.73 for the performance package. We all know pushing 460-480 out of the LS3 will be easy, it is more of a marketing decision of how much to add and when to do it. I expect the new rating to be right around 450. Just dump the AFM already though, it is not worth the drop in performance, and for those that want better economy, you offer the highway gears.
