Do the Math
$33,710
I'll be ordering a 1SS with Boston Acoustics, the RS package, and an automatic transmission. If I can reduce from this the trade-in value of my Impreza, I'm looking at maybe $3,000. I can keep it under $30k with some aggressive negotiating and an intimidating bodyguard, horse-riding whip, or black Suburbans. I am expecting a call today from the district management of my post-college job. A little politicking seems to pay off. I should be pulling strings and making lots of dough in a couple of years. If this all works out, I'll have extra money by the end of 2010 for lots of aftermarket parts. If this doesn't work out, my budget should allow me to save enough after college to get one with limited financing in under 2 years. I figure that my 2011 Camaro will be completely paid off by 2015. How much will yours cost? When will you be able to afford it? How will you pay?

Did the math... for myself
I am approved for 60k for 72 months at 6.24%... MY personally max is 500ish/month payment... Mustang GT base: $27,750 MSRP (includes destination) $2233.00 Tax (8.10% Arizona) $414.00 Registration/license Total $30,217.00 Payment $ 504.21 Mustang GT Premium $29,570 MSRP (includes destination) $2295.00 Tax (8.10% Arizona) $444.00 Registration/license Total $32,409.00 Payment $ 540.00 1SS $30,992 MSRP (includes destination) $2510.00 Tax (8.10% Arizona) $465.00 Registration/license Total $33,967.00 Payment $ 566.78 2SS (What i was after AT close to the GT premium price) $34180.00 MSRP (includes destination) $2769.00 Tax (8.10% Arizona) $513.00 Registration/license Total $37,462.00 Payment $ 625.10 I am VERY disappointed, YES we were told premium to the mustang... but hundreds.. NOT THOUSANDS premium. I guess my Signature needs an update becuase its WRONG. Seems that I will be looking into a corvette at the close to 40k price tag.

the only thing to change to your sig is what ive been saying all along.... go to ford.com and do all that, then add about 2-3k to the price to compensate for the fact that the mustang is already out and ford has had ample time to sell enough units to keep the price low. and to compensate for a years worth of inflation. I just made a 2009 GT premium and added things that are standard on the 2SS and the price came out to $36,837.00 (with 100 less horsepower to boot) also, how much are you putting down for the vehicle? if anything at all? if you want a lower monthly payment.... put more down when you sign for the car.

My down payment is the reason im probably looking at a corvette, the more down payment i have to make the more its worth it to me to step up to a vette. Add in the fact that in 3-4 years the camaro will be worth about the same as a mustang (2005-20006's are going for 15kish).. why spend 36k? I could justify almost a 50% drop.. but not over that. STILL VERY UPSET.. gods I held the faith and I feel like ive been screwed. GM made a liar out of me today.

Consider this, the Camaro will beat all Mustangs except the GT500 and above. The Shelby GT costs $39k+ still has just ~320 hp. My point is that a new Camaro is a bargain at its performance level.

For 4000 you get quite a bit more car and performance.. The 2SS is not a deal its about 3500 over priced.
