The wieght distribution may not be 50/50 with the V8, but it'll still be darn close. You're adding 100-150 lbs to the nose when you choose V8 over V6. But 2010 5thgen has a point; I'd expect some different suspention setup, and different tires, etc to accompany the V8.
I think you touched on a point that I've been thinking about though: You've got a V8 and a V6. Which one was the afterthought, right? From what we're all gathering with all these little tidbits of info....NIETHER!!! I think they've put equal amounts of effort into both models which ensures a quality, no-compromises vehicle in ALL levels! That excites me more than any of the V6 talk. |

We hear a lot from GM about the V6 because that's what they're marketing heavily. They don't need to market the V8 as much because its intended target is us: the fans already dedicated to the product. The V6 will be for people considering anything from the Mustang to the Nissan 350Z. That's why GM is talking it up so much. No worries, its just marketing.

The Camaro is American. Despite the fact that much of the design work was done in Australia, prototype(s) built in Japan, and the car will be assembled in Canada. It is still an American car. USofA American.

Oh lesse they've already said that the new V8 will have Active Fuel Managment and thus making it way better then the Mustang in mileage already since A Corvette outguns a Mustang on that level without AFM already. Plus they've got other things up their sleeve for the future, HCCI anyone? And the V8 will most likely run on ethanol. Which means that by all those pretty vague facts we already have the most fuel efficient and enviromentaly friendly V8 car in the class. Not the mention the 400+HP.
So don't worry the real goodies on the V8 is yet to come.

No, the real question is
Will you be ready for the V8!?!? and are you worried about all the tremendous power it will emit from it's gut-wrenching V8 engine? If this is not for you, then buy the V6

Not worried at all. Remember, they are still working on the V8. I take it as they are dedicating even more time to the V8 and that's why they're still not ready to show it to us yet.

There are (new) fans across the ocean too you know. They better make the 500HP V8 available here too... It will be... weird, to say the least, w8ing for an additional year for the 500HP one to be released and then finding out it 's not gonna hit Europe. Btw, why are they not releasing the 500HP version of the coupe car along with the other versions? Ppl that want the 300HP will get it. Ppl that want the 400HP will get it. Ppl that want the vert will w8. Why should ppl that want the 500HP coupe should w8? I just don't get it.

I won't be buying the car when it releases. But, I'm thinking they won't wait long, if at all, to get the 500+ cars to us.
