How do you get fastest 0-60 times?

Been thinking about timing 0-60 to see if I get the times that are claimed by the reviews ( 4.6 seconds ) How do you setup to get best times?

1. Competitive mode? ( Traction and stability modes off )
2. Start in 1st or 2nd gear? ( On an L99 - V8 Automatic )
3. Manual ( paddle ) shift mode and shift myself?
4. Manual mode and let the car shift itself ( drive in M but dont touch paddles to actually put it in manual mode ) ?
5. How do you keep from losing time by burning to much rubber off the line?

All very good questions.

My fastest 0-60 AND 1320 were with everything ON and in 'D'.

Son't ask me why, just was.

Not sure now, I'm supercharged now and haven't had the chance to try realy but stock, I did it in regular drive mode.

It all depends on traction.

If traction is limited (on the street), the Traction control might be helpful. You can just drop down to M (Sport) or use D (Drive).

Don't use the tap shifts. Let the computer do the shifting. 95% of the time the computer will do a much better job. Every guy I know that races his L99 lets the computer do the shifting.

At the track or if your tires are hooking up well on the street, you'll want to turn off the TC. Your car has more potential to run fast with the TC off.

Fastest 0-60mph is usually obtained by brake stalling the car to about 1000 rpms. Then to launch you just let off the brake as you roll quickly into the gas.

But as mentioned, everything depends on traction. 0-60mph is all about traction. So as PQ suggested, you might need the TC to assist you (especially in winter conditions). But with warm tires (summer conditions) you'll run faster with the TC off.
