You guys are right at least he left a note. I am cooling down just a little bit. Just was hot and heated and when I got home and had to post to vent. BTW, it was parked on a city street in front of a dentist office. Must have been the lawn maintenance person on freaking labor day. I showed the pic where I am parked on the street to show you the gap between my car, the curb and where the lawn is. So, this person is still an idiot for not paying attention to a 1.New Sporty Car and 2. Bright Yellow paint. Anybody with body shop knowledge know if they will bondo it and paint it over or replace the door? Appreciate the info. For those that have had this happen already(body damage) you know exactly how I feel. And for those that have not had it happen yet, I hope it stays that way for you. Thanks for the Camaro love on this board. Camaro5 rocks!!!

Just take the car to a reputable shop. If you don't know one, ask around. Don't ask from people who don't care much about their cars. Ask from people who care about their cars and have had them repaired. Don't be afraid to tell the shop how you feel about your car either. But also don't think because your car is new it's perfect from the factory. If you look it over real good now before you take it in you will see that the paint is not flawless and the body lines will have different gaps from panel to panel. Some cars are worse than others but none of them are "perfect". Good luck with the repair.

As far as body filler goes, yes they will use some. First they will pull the dent out as much as possible , and finish it out with body filler. They will also be blending on the quarter panel to.

BTW I would rather have some body filler in my door than a new skin/shell put on it. Just hope they put back any paint that might get burnt or hammered off on the back side from the repair.

2 things you're gonna learn when you buy this car. 1. it will get hit if u leave it by itself for long stretches of time, and 2. you had better buy yourself a 'beater' to drive when you wanna do the movies or walmart or whatever it is you do that will take you away from this car for a long period of time.
I understand if someone has to leave it unattended but you don't buy this car to leave alone to go watch a movie and NOT expect something to happen.
*****laws of average will catch up to you***************
just a word of caution because these cars are magnets for the catastrophic events:(

That's what you get for putting a decepticon sticker on an autobot!

J/K. Sucks, but accidents happen. At least he left a note. Most a-holes wouldn't have said jack. And it doesn't look that bad I bet PDR (paintless dent removal) will take care of it. At the most $150 outta pocket if it comes down to it.

A GM bodyshop will be able to give you a perfect match with GM paint.

I agree i think a DDR can fix this it doesnt look like paint was removed. I would for sure go this route first and see what they say. After that a real polish to fix the scratch's and then wax u should be golden. Good luck man hope it works out for u.

My car was scratched by an overweight woman with a clanky purse
A bit of theory here, but had the girl been an attractive fit woman instead of an overweight women with a clanky purse, that scenario where you catch her and scream her would not have gone down like that. It's interesting to see how people are treated differently based on looks, whether people want to deny it or not.

My car was scratched by an overweight woman with a clanky purse..I seen it, she looked at my car and just took off..with me following her and stopped her.

Did I go off? Oh Hell yea! To a point where she started crying..I was like do you NOT have respect for other peoples property? But if she had come in or left a note, ok, compose and be cool.
You made a Women cry. You're Mother must be proud
