Not sure why the WS6 would need a driver mod since the highest rated 305 in '88 only made 215HP. They were high 14 at best, and most were in the low 15's. I say good job and the WS6 needs to do a better job picking his competition next time!

All you have to say is 305 and that tells you there is no competition for either a 5th gen V6 or V8, all 305's are dogs even though I thought I read that 3rd gen WS6's run mid 14's. The WS6's you have to look out for are the 98-02 LS1 4th gens (very high 12's-low 13's 1/4 mi stock) some of which could have potential to hand a 5th gen V8 it's ass. Now a 3rd gen WS6 does hold a special value compared to other 3rd gens, like the IROC, GTA, 1LE cars do.

If it was a 305 auto or the TBI version than you should have killed it. I think I could beat one of those in my 5.3 Tahoe.
