Do you guys just skim the posts or actually read them, I am NO expert on the Z28 but I do READ. I think you guys just can't let anyone else have an option and so I end this thing with the original post. I THINK (IN MY OPINON), THAT YOU ARE BUILDING THIS CAR IN YOUR OWN MINDS AS A SUPERCAR AND I HOPE YOU ARE NOT DISAPPOINTED WHEN IT COMES OUT OR DO YOU JUST LIKE TO ARGUE?

The ZL1 is the supercar. This is the pecking order: SS - Z/28 - ZL1 |

I may have to some more reading on here or do some googling - but if this is correct - what is the big deal of a z28 when you have an SS available. Are you looking for a cheaper car to then mod up? How much cheaper would this z28 be?

I mean you are entitled to your opinion. but you said option. so it sounds like what you want and what the heritage of the Z is are two different things. I wouldn't mind seeing a TTv6. I feel it would bring in more buyers, but for performance vs cost of such a setup in this car it just doesn't work. I'm not arguing I'm making a point. and it also sounds like when your points aren't sound/strong you think we are arguing. Not everyone is going to get what they want in the Z28. I for one am already preparing for such a thing. because what I want isn't already on the market, and won't be until it's first in the C7 vette. but will that stop me from saving for it. no. does that stop me from hoping that this Z28 can handle corners better and is faster then the SS in the twisties, no. I have a general idea of what I will be satisfied with from the factory. and it isn't all the bells and whistles you get with a 2SS/2LT. things I would like to see: handling 1G+ on the skid pad ring time less than 8:10 1320 in the mid to low 12's. manual leather seats as an option and heads up display I don't need onstar, TC or infotainment system. but I have a feeling I will be forced into 2 out of three of those. everyone is entitled to their opinion. but when you have people that lived during those times (wildpaws) and know what the Z was about, you just don't try to prove your point with weak information. that is all. |

agreed! i am too waiting on the z/28 while i enjoy my pace car. i've owned over 30 camaros since i've been old enough to drive and the z/28 is my favorite hands down.i truly believe GM will do us right and build one that will stand behind it's name. you can put a supercharger on anything.........just saying.......

http://www.67z28.com/history.htm No one is looking for a cheaper car to mod up, what we are looking for is a factory built version that is closer to the end product we want. And that end product is not an SS or ZL1. Clyde |

I'm old enough to have owned a 79 Z28 new and I can tell you it was one nice ride. I fully agree that the '67 Z28 was a great handling car for what it was created for, SCCA racing back then. We all thought of the SS (396 & 427) as a drag car and the Z28 as a track car in those days. I know that if and when GM comes out with it, it will be a great ride even if it is a TTV6. I believe it will be a very cool and awesome ride but I think (my opinion only) it will not be what the expectation some folks are wanting so that's why I said I hope they are not disappointed. The ZL1 looks to have all that you are looking for in the Z28 (except the badging) so if it can pull a 1g on the skid pad, that would be just plain great, but I for one would not be disappointed if it didn't.

Scott is staying clear of the new Z/28 threads for now and I don't blame him. |

Before I do - is their a real chance at the z/28 coming out? Will it be something power and handling wise between the current SS and the 2012 zl1? Will the price be between the SS and the zl1? If the z/28 will handle like the zl1 but with less power I'm so getting one.
