3.73 gears was announced then, but I'm sure the thread was recently updated with the auto tranny announcement yesterday. As facts come out, radz28 usually updates and is on top of it

But, of course because your mod'd ZL1 suggestions are much more positive than my negative facts nobody will bash you on this thread with rants about no warranty and such.
Some of us future ZL1 owners aren't worried about warranties...same as you. Also all you have to do is look at what CTS-V guys are doing to their cars. To see how you can mod a ZL1. That's my plan.

If you plan on blowing doors off ZL1's 11.7@117 aint gonna cut it...and if the ZL1 is even slightly modded. Game over.

As I mentioned in this thread http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=150606 it was obvious with that carbon fiber hood vent that the ZL1 was going to have more than 556 HP. Great news! Go ahead, astound me Chevy!

There looks to be a bit of confusion here on the rear axle ratio of the automatic Vs... it is 3.23:1, not 3:73 gearset that's in the manual.
However, the way the V is set up. 1st gear is 4.03:1 as opposed to the manual's 2.66:1 1st gear.
The automatic V starts in 2nd gear unless the tranny is put in Sport Mode - and then it starts in 1st.

I don't like the heat extractor on the ZL-1, and the 4 exhausts, don't know...

Think Bumblebee, and that's my "ideal" Camaro (I know it's a G8 with a bodykit).

Wink Thank you GM.. THIS IS YOUR MOONSHOT

And thanks to all those who take the time to participate and share on this forum.

The announcement (though unofficial) is truly showing that those in charge know this IS THEIR MOONSHOT.

With everything else going on globally, and those who remember getting long in the tooth, THIS IS THE MOONSHOT.

Watching history and being able to get a piece of it is AWESOME.

Wow

It's the people that make this forum. However, it's GM that's given us something to come together about, so KUDOS TO EVERYONE!!!

Crazy about Camaro

There is no way that the GM car guys will let other aftermarket companies out do their version of the supercharged Camaro. This will be the car to buy, drive and keep! This is the the one that we have all been waiting for! I am very excited about this model as they want to keep the aftermarket guys in their rear view mirror!
