How long did it take for your order to progress through the statuses?
When did you order your Camaro and how long did it take for your order to progress through the different codes and so on?
I ordered my Camaro at my local dealer on December 24th, and it's still lingering at 1100 after FOUR weeks! They said six to eight weeks... and at this point, I seriously doubt it's going to get here in two weeks, let alone four more! Are people who ordered in December experiencing the same lag? Did the winter holiday put orders behind? This is the first time I've ordered a car... and come to think about it, it's the first time I've had to WAIT for something since I ordered some Sea Monkeys through a magazine when I was a kid and had to wait "Six to Eight Weeks for Delivery!" Talk me down folks... I'm Jonesin' for my Camaro! Let's hear your stories! Sam Order status codes: 1100 = Preliminary Order (Order passed GM edit tables but dealers has not received allocation to place order) 2000 = Accepted By GM (Dealer used allocation to place order into production) 2500 = Preferenced (Order pulled to the production system) 3000 = Accepted By Production Control (Order input into the production system) 3100 = Sequenced (Order sequenced for Production) 3300 = Scheduled For Production (Order is scheduled into the plant build cycle) 3400 = Broadcast (Order is sent to various build & supplier areas to bring order together) 3800 = Produced (Order is built and VIN# shows in the Dealer Order system now) 4150 = Invoiced (Order is invoiced to the dealer) 4200 = Shipped (Vehicle is shipped to the dealer or point of delivery) 5000 = Delivered To Dealer 6000 = Delivered To Customer |

You might be running into the backlog of the shutdown over the holiday break. What dealer did you order through? Did they tell you they had available allocation to place an order for Dec/Jan?

Once the order gets to 2000 it's about a month before the car is built. Then another 2 to 3 weeks for delivery to California.

see my signature line....45 days from 1100 to delivery!!
It sounds like the dealer may not have allocations.....BTW, there's a lot of GREAT dealers here on the forum that have immediate allocation. Congrats on your order. The wait is painful but sooooo worth the wait.

Ordered on May 16th. The order actually went into the system on the 18th. It arrived at the dealer September 15th. Picked it up 10 days later. I really don't think it takes that long anymore.

I ordered the second week of November and it began being built on December 4 and was finished on the 8th. I picked it up from the dealer on December 23.

However--the GM factories weren't running orders at that time because everyone was on holiday. I was told that they wouldn't be accepting orders again until after the new year. So, in actuality, your car's probably only been on order for about 2 weeks. |

Same boat here. I think the holiday break ended on the 11th so they probably got up to full steam on the 12th or 13th. I purposely held off on my order to avoid the line shutting down for the break. I prefer to be either before or after, not both. I'm hoping for a March delivery.

So if I go to my dealer to talk about "Allocations"... what lingo should I use?
Should I just say... "Do you have allocations to order my Camaro?" Or "Are you waiting to be allocated for my order?" Thanks guys, you're making me feel better. FWIW, I ordered my Camaro at Groth Brother's Chevrolet in Livermore, CA. I prefer to keep my tax dollars local... They happen to have a blue 2SS, and two six cylinders... one white and one maroon. I was real specific about mine being a 1SS, auto, polished wheels, rear cargo matt and the upgraded stereo and that's it. I sold my daily driver and bought a POS S10 to drive 25 miles to work each day... 'cept I have to do a bunch of work on it to make it road worthy, so I'm driving my '68 Chevy C-10 right now! I love old cars, but not for daily transportation! Hahaha!! Sam |

I ordered on 12/29/09 and was 3400 as of 1/16/10... Maybe a good dealer or just got lucky.

I ordered Dec 27 and got a TPW of 2/1 on Jan 7. I don't think the break has anything to do with it. Probably no allocations?
