LG or Kooks Exhaust Help
I need some help with choosing an exhaust system.
I have a 2010 RS/SS Completely stock. Has anyone bought or know anyone who has the LG Header and cat back system " LG Motorsports Long Tube Headers for 2010 Camaro" They have a good advertisement for them and I like what I see. My next choice would be the Kooks headers and corsa cat backs What do you think????? Thanks in advance. |

For catback... Corsa stands alone as the best for no drone...
After that, I go Borla and Flowmaster for the tone and vast sound improvement with headers. I think Kooks is one of the best headers are far as fit an clearance. I think both of those resemble a closer "classic" sound and have a very deep, throaty rumble. As for headers... I believe sound and performance among top brands of headers will be nearly the same.

I plan on getting the LG next month hopefully. Both are nice exhausts but the kooks seems to have a lot more ppl complaining of drone. Granted a lot less people have the LG setup but I haven't heard anyone complain of drone or maybe 1 person said it was very minor. When you shop around they're fairly close price wise. Get whichever you like the sound of more. I looked at ARH too but can't justify the price gap between them and others.

Am I reading this correct on the Corsa Site; They don't make a "Cat Back" system for the 6-speed??? |

porque?! There should be 4 on the bottom. I searched 2011, but it will fit the 2010. The bottom two on the left will be WITH GFX, the other two on the bottom should be standard catbacks.

Both KOOKS and LG are good headers. Can't go wrong with either one. I would go with which ever fits the budget the best. I will say it's hard to beat Maryland Speed's price on some ceramic coated headers. If you go KOOKS, consider the extra $200 or so for the 1 3/4 - 1 7/8 stepped headers.

I have LG long tube header and Corsa Catback. I could not be more pleased. No drone, absolutely loud at wot. I heard the total LG headers and exhaust on the shop car at LG (I took my car to LG to install headers and do a dyno tune, I already had Corsa on the car). The total LG system sounds nice. Not nearly as loud as my Corsa with LG headers. I would expect their to be a little drone on total LG system at 70 or so.
I highly LG headers and Corsa. 418 RWHP. |

I have the complete LG setup. Very little drone. You can listen to my vid in my sig. I'm cammed which changes the tone. But I was happy with the exhaust note even before I put the cam in. You can't go wrong with either setup. Kooks, LG, AR, are all top dogs.

Corsa catbacks sound great, we recomend Corsa or Solo if you want to stay away from drone. Solo Performance is kind of an unkown but they make a great catback that sounds tuff as nails with no drone and a very fair price. We also recomend American Racing Headers. They have excellent fitment, quality and power gains. Stop by and shop around and when your ready hit us up for a Camaro5 discount.

I am not a huge fan of Corsa on these cars. IMO the exhaust does not have a muscular tone, and is more exotic. Also, It is very quiet on a car without headers, and still very quiet on a car with headers. Add a cam, and it gets muscular...but so does most any exhaust. My new favroite is the Kooks street sleeper exhaust, which does not drone, but has a bot more additude. I also like the Borla Stinger system a lot.

I have the Kooks system, 1 7/8 with cats & 3" to the tips. Livernois L92 stage 2B cam, CAI Inc. I have enough drone to interfere with music listening. fairly quite at normal throttle, but loud as F WOT. LS3, so drone is not due to DOD. I'm going to get helmholtz pipes custom built (search this forum for this)
