Thanks for the updated information! Just did the update. I appreciate the help on this issue as Federal/State boundary stuff with the military is somewhat confusing to people like myself who are not in the military.

Going by that V.C. I would say it is illegal (Unless Section 26104 claims otherwise). BUT I doubt you would get pulled over as it still offers sufficient warning and does not impede the actual intended original effect of the lamp. IE: It still gives off warning that you're turning, in fact a better warning I would assume then the original version.

Personally I don't think this will cause a problem if installed albeit "illegal" as it might be deemed. But then again that is a personal risk we take with some of our modifications I guess.

Regarding Gun Laws

I'm staying clear of this subject as much as possible. California laws seem to change frequently and the laws are often convoluted. I refer people to Cal-Guns for law specific information as this is a car website.

If the laws were very simple; cut and dry, I wouldn't mind posting it in the Law and Reg section but this is a car website so the mods might not be okay with that.

My Advice

• Keep your guns unloaded while transporting them
• Keep them locked while transporting them
• Keep ammunition and weapons seperate
• Transport them in the proper containers

This advice is particularly cautious as I know the laws differ from weapon type (IE: Rifle, Hand Gun, Assault Rifle) but because of strict laws I don't take chances when transporting my guns to the range.

Most Importantly
Do your own independent research, don't rely on me or anyone on this forum unless they are in fact very well versed/officers and can give appropriate advice. Some members may be correct, but take no chances. Unlike having a modified car, incorrect gun use has dire consequences far exceeding a ticket. I by no means think guns are unsafe in the proper hands, I'm mostly worried about legal repercussions involving transportation.

Thanks for the answer. I´m a bit confused about this law, because it says you can´t do the modification, but these lights work better (in my opinion). At the same time, they are pretty awesome, and might cause people to have a look instead of slowing down..

I wouldn't worry too much about the "looking instead of slowing down" haha, people do that enough with our cars already. The Mustang has similar turn signals on some of its models I believe so it really shouldn't be a problem.

Read this thread thoroughly and saw no mention of hi flow cats. Are they in fact legal here in cal? Since I can't do long tube headers, I was thinking short tubes with high flow cats to get the most out of the shorties.

Good question, I'm not sure on the answer but my guess is they are illegal. My reasoning would be that they will move the catalytic converter (even if it is just a few centimeters) and therefore this makes it illegal. Plus changing anything from stock on cars in California can be deemed "illegal" it seems; although rare. Now whether or not you get caught/pass smog checks is another issue. You would most likely pass I would assume, especially on a new Camaro with good maintenance.

Another factor to look at is if the shorty headers you are going to get will have the CARB certification. I'm not sure if any manufacturer has actually gone ahead and got a CARB cert for the shorty headers. Therefore any shorties would be deemed illegal.

All this being said, without a visual inspection you might be able to get away with it. Let me see if I can't find a specific Yes/No on the high flow cats or maybe another member knows.

I'm not sure about the mods but if you plan on driving your car on base you will have to get stickers. So if you plan on keeping you car registered in another state you will need to get your car smog to get base stickers. I know because they did that to my 2012. You will not need the certificate so that should save you 7 bucks. Should be $43 for a smog. But i don't know if this applies to all of California or just to the San Diego area.
