Just practice slipping the clutch and it will run with factory rubber.

That is a bad ass picture.
As far as going on stock tires, just practice some more. And Im sure you will get some different opinions on the burnout, but unless your doing it to clear debris off your tires, your not doing much other than wasting rubber doing a burnout. Street tires dont heat up the same way drag tires do. |

So my second attempt was much better. Ran at Island dragway in N.J. yesterday and ran a best of 12.184 @ 116 with a 1.902 60 ft on stock tires deflated to 22 psi. I do have a Roto Fab intake. I left at 3,000 rpm.
A set of Drag Radials and I should easily be in the 11's!!!

Maple Grove...what an iconic track! The car is hard to drive, especially when it's loose and there's colder weather like we have had. It's a handfull, but, stay with it and get accustomed. Cool post. Side note; tonight for a drive it broke loose with part throttle in first gear with little effort, 70 degrees and 45 percent humidity. The car is all over the place in cooler air temps, lower humidity, and road/tire temperatures.

Just curious how did launch control work for you? I am dying to try it when I break mine in

....LC is nice, but it's a static point. To tailor the car to specific condictions, such as a change of rear tires to a D/R and/or slick, or adjustment for tire pressure, or ground temp, air temp, humidity and alike, once must not use LC and turn off the controls to dial in the launch RPM at a driver optioned setting based on those factors to get maximum grip. LC does the same thing everytime, and in drag racing, one size does not fit all.

Any mods yet? My stock tune was no leaner than 11.5 at WOT on the dyno. I scanned with HPTuners on the dyno run and the PCM commanded AFR matched exactly the WB O2 on the dyno.

Bone stock back when I posted that. Not sure why I was lean. I now have an upgraded hex and coolant pump. If it ever stops raining on the Test n Tune nights, I'll get some more runs in, and data log them.

drag strip has plenty of traction. Cooler weather and more practice launching and shifting should help. Somebody has run an 11.77 ET 100% bone stock, no drag radials ! Check out the link: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=254227 |

You just need more practice and WARM tires....Your best "first" run was a LOT better than mine.

I turned all the nannies off. Held the TC button down for 7 seconds and ran it old school. Launched at 3,000 rpm. My best runs were without the PTM modes.

Launch control is eerie-cool. It'll aid everyone up to the above-average drag racer - and provides consistency. It's interesting though...it's not as video-game as some might think...you have to practice using it right.
