I would be surprised if the dyno shows the full capability of a ram air system, unless you have fans that actually create the same amount of air pressure and volume as it would on the highway/track.
It will show increases, but not nearly what it "should" do as a ram air system works properly. Still am waiting for the PM to place the order

To tell you i don't think i will get more than 15-20 hp at the top of the RPM, But i think i will get more TQ on the Vararam and TQ is what moves a 4000 lb car.
As for a pm i think all testing will be done end of next week or so, But we will hear from them Soon. |

Are there 1 or 2 air filters and where are they located?

I am so Up set for you guys.
So i got back from L.V. and some dyno pulls on my car that is as it came from GM on the power Tran no mods, So my first pull for this car at K & N is this Pic.
And today i did 379.8 HP and 362.3 Tq so that is why i am up set you dont have your's at this time, I have to load some software on my computer to scan in the graph, Thake you to all the LVFBC for all the fun and thanks to "SSRS2010" for Hanging with me and doing his car to And a Big Thank you to "VegasSilverbird" For puting this on. One more thing AFR was 12.2 so stile a fat but not bad maby if we can get it up to 13 we can find some more HP. Last edited by 2SSRS@Gen5diy; 09-06-2009 at 08:43 AM. Reason: To Add AFR |

I don't see what the gains were...did you do an actual before and after dyno. The before that you posted was from 2 months earlier and a different speed shop or did I overlook something so I am not sure how valid that comparison is

Yes it is from a different dyno, But i don't think K&N will dyno some one's intake

So what you're saying is with a fan (or real driving conditions), we can expect over 40 rwhp?

Exactly which is why I was wondering why it was referenced...because it is almost misleading the way it was posted, it might lead some to believe there was a 40 rwhp gain which is obviously not going to happen from an intake alone. |

If both dyno's were set up identically, I'd have to say nothing but, "HOLY SNIKEYS!"
However, we have two different pulls on two different dyno's. How the dyno's are set up and the dyno alone will jack with numbers. You can get a basic idea, but you can't really say that part "x" gives you "y hp" gain. If we could get a second dyno run on the same dyno, then we'd be in business. for now, I agree that the Vararam is going to kick ass. Never had doubts anyway...just anxious to get one to see for myself. |
