Rumor - Chevy Camaro SS to Get More Power !
According to GMAuthority, the Camaro SS is set to receive a power bump. Their sources are indicating that more power will be coming to both the LS3 and L99 Camaro SS.
The power bump is said to be a reaction by GM to the new Mustang 5.0's quicker quarter mile time. No exact power increase numbers were quoted or provided, but the increase in power would begin with the 2012 Camaros. This would make the second major change coming to the 2012 Camaros, in addition to the expected revamped and improved interior.

I heard they finally fixed the problem they were having with the flux capacitor, it should be good for another 50 hp

cool. should consider hp increase for the V6 as well to keep up with the lighter 2011 Mustang V6.

the power has always been there we are just certifying it now! Think they will use this line again and everyone will have to get new h.p. stickers?

I wonder how they are going to work it into the rear seats. Guess they weren't good for much anyways. And there won't be much of a decrease in rear visibility. more like 65HP after a tune

Interesting. I had a feeling there would be a power bump in addition to the new interior for 2012. I'm guessing the power increase will be from a revised intake/exhaust system and new computer tuning. I think the LS3/L99 will remain the same internally.
I'd expect a bump in MSRP for 2012 too..... |

i think that the V6 camaro need a power bump, or a weight decrease.

Huh, interesting. I wonder what they will be changing if they are keeping the same engines.

Makes you wonder how much further they'll push the SS till it hits Z28 territory? We're at 426hp now Do they go to 450hp? We know the SRT-8 Challenger is getting a kick too to a much needed (in it's case) around 475hp. Do they match that at around 460-75hp? Then would the Z28 be at the assumed 556hp or would they push it higher? Especially since the new vette will be coming with it's own improvements approaching it's numbers won't be an issue. AHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! This is getting nuts! Glad I already bought my car. At least I don't have to deal with whether or not I should wait. lol On top of all this is what about the looming economy standards? GAAAAAAAAAAAAA! I'm going to bed now.
