Other things I noticed.

The windshield had none of the stickers that colorado cars have like emission excempt stickers.

The alignment was messed up when I drove it home.

It squeked bad over bumps.

Might have been totaled for all I know. Got a new windshield and everything. Once I found that damage I stopped looking.

I bought my Camaro off the lot, at a dealership I trust, and one that goes out of the way to make things right. There are no doubt shady dealerships all around, but there are those, some listed and participate right here on this forum, that are stellar and deserve our business.

I think the OP did right. Found a flaw, called out a BS story and got his shit straight. Now hopefully the dealership will suffer a bit for trying to be shady.

Also points out that one needs to do a walkaround, in the daytime, before ever driving their car off the lot! That goes for special order or dealer stock.

No, they would not have come out. We could barely see the damage. Only noticeable if you look hard enough.

that sucks man..

The fact they took your car back (after it was titled to you) and replaced it with a new (untitled) car proves they were in the wrong. They would not take that hit just to pacify you. They knew you were right, and they didn't want legal action.

Good luck with Camaro Number 3! --- you maybe the only forum member on his 3rd Camaro.

So how much did you lose when you traded the sunroof SS in for the non-sunroof SS?

Don't let one or two bad apple dealerships ruin it for the rest of the dealerships.... many people were completely satisfied with their dealership and were treated right...

I'm speechless..........some of these dealers are unbelievable. Although, there is a CHANCE that they didn't know of the damage before (maybe????).......or at least I'd like to believe that

saw your post above......maybe they didn't know........but one of those dealers is shady as all hell

Good Job MacTruck! Good to hear you were able to get what you wanted.

Did you run a CARFAX on that vin? Was there anything reported on that report? I also hope, you tell this story to the BBB and local media.

It's a shame that you have to go to that length to make sure you are not getting taken advantage of. Some dealerships and salespeople have no sense of honor.
I have been dealing with the same GM dealership and salesperson for 12 years and they have always treated me like gold.

to the OP, good job standing up for your rights. I wonder how many people have no clue when this happens.

I don't see the difference whether you order it or buy it off the lot. They are still built by the same company. The quailty should be the same.

I was going to suggest that. Didn't the fact it had 61 miles on the odometer raise any suspicion? That's a lot of miles for a new car. Carfax might not register if the car didn't have a prior owner. The dealership is the first on the list but that is reserved for the Bill of Sale and if the dealer damaged the car, they obviously wouldn't report it. I'll tell ya, I thought buying used cars was a sham, but I'd rather have my wisdom teeth pulled out with Bowie Knife and without anesthesia before I'd ever take pleasure in buying a new car nowadays. Unfortuantely, owning cars is a necessity, so as much as I hate the process, I still have to deal with it.
