Word to the wise, do not veer is ok but best to not hit deer at all. Slow down and be on watch. With ABS you stomp brake and steer car and road way.
With these low hood cars, you hit a deer and it can come thru the windshield. 100-200 lb deer at even 40mph thru windshield can kill ya! I know of such. If going to hit them, DUCK! |

I agree.....No where in the other thread does he say that the SS isn't his car. Quote from other thread: I got my car today, bittersweet.. 15 minutes after getting it a car swerves and hits me, not my fault. Anyways we couldnt find them. Went to the police etc. Its dark and rainy outside so I cant get a decent pic.. but what would yall's estimate be on the cost of repairs? The pic above shows where the damge is, its scratched and dented in in red. Will there need to be new body panels? Then he goes on to say: "updated with pics" which are the pics shown. What does give????? The first car (SS) was totalled for those few dents?? and replaced with and LT which is now totalled??? I'm calling on this story until there's more clarification from the OP. Something fishy here........just sayin............ First accident: swerves from another car Second accident: swerves from deer Two different accidents, two different Camaro's...........

Commits weekly crime
|
On swerving from deer.
If I see a chance to veer from a deer, I will. I posted recently about almost hitting a deer a month ago. The deer never moved and was in the right 1/4 of the lane on a single lane highway. 2 cars had just passed going the other way which reduced my night vision. As soon as they passed, I saw the deer. If I braked, I would have hit the deer. I easily swerved left then right to go around the deer. I was doing the speed limit, and it was a straight part of the road though. I think the main thing here is this can be situational. It's also one reason I go out on a lonely road shortly after purchasing the car to test how it responds to heavy braking in turns/acceleration and other situations. I didn't oversteer or go out of control when I veered around the deer.

Two accidents, his fault or not, in less than a year, in a Camaro, buy a 16 year old driver. Didn't read his first post about his frist accident, just minutes after picking up the car. But, here, he is clearly to blame. First you don't do 50 around a blind curve in the Day Time, let alone at Night. Sorry, if you were doing 30 or less, you probably would have better control of your vehicle when you swerved to miss the dear. And for those who say, "DON'T GO THERE". I have a 20 year old and I would tell him the same thing. He has had one car and has been in a 1 car accident himself. It's funny how they always blame something else for they way they drive. He blamed his accident on the SNOW....I said to him, "do you think, maybe you were going to FAST for the roads?". Like all of us, they want to learn the hard way.
Maybe it is just bad luck for this kid. But if I was his parents, there is no way on earth he's getting an SS, not while I am alive, not at his age. Don't parents get it, they are still liable for their kids under the age of 18. What if he had killed someone in that last accident. WOW.... DONE! |

I think the picture with the red outlining the area of the accident was just a picture he used, it wasn't his car. |

Don't you love nay-sayers who post when they don't know jack shit about a situation?
Have met him IRL at our east TX meet. He drives a 6. That picture of the SS he posted for illustration purposes only. Sorry to hear about your bad luck, dude! Hopefully insurance takes care of things.
