the l99 and ls3 are only different in the hardware added to close the cylinders for AFM.....

Just saying, In the last IDL they still advertised the auto as faster 4.7 compared to 4.9

Nice info, thanks. I also should have added that I will have to hear the exhaust note also when the AFM kicks in. But I have plenty of time to do research

L99 for me, bummer i gotta pay an extra grand for transmission choice but o well... that seriously effected my decision on trim as well..

SS1/RS

$900 Power Sunroof
$995 Automatic Transmission
$??? 4 Gauge Center Controls

Should bring my total after taxes somewhere around $35,995 or low $36. Simply cant afford to push the envolope close to 40 with the SS2. I would love leather seats and usb an all that but the aftermarket will have to do.

L99, just for the automatic. I would rather have an Auto LS3, but its not a GM option at this time. I may end up swaping the L99 for a LS9 (also swap the 6L80 trans for the 6L90, and drop the 6L80 into my truck). If I dont do an engine swap, then i will just Supercharge the L99.

I want the automatic b/c 1) Im lazy and 2) Driving home from Pomona at 6.00pm sucks.

The thought of Active Fuel Management is growing on me though. In a V8 i will burn alot of unneccesary fuel in Parking lots after concerts or road construction traffic (Something that is constant here in the Inland Empire), so AFM would be a blessing there...but obviously fuel economy isnt my Top priority seeing how I want to S/C my car. LOL

L99 Don't care for manual shift personally. I'll be totally happy with 400hp. I'll be going from a meager 103 to 400 for God's sake! LOL

I am buying this car for a daily driver, so unfortunately I have to buy the auto. I will say though, that on nice days I can take out my 1969 Camaro convert. which has a tremec 5-sp bolted to a 502 Ramjet......that should satisfy my wanting to shift the gears!

M6 because I want an LS3.

The auto is tempting as I do most of my driving in the city.

No choice for me. Car I bought (2SS LS COUPE) came with a Automatic/Manual shift. I'm now happy it did since it has all the power I dreamed of and more than I use. Had to pay $5K over sticker at unveiling but I'M driving now. Would have paid $15K over if I had to now that I have it. Love this car.
