So does anyone know if dealers are letting you do test drives these days? One near me has several on the lot according to their website. Being that its my birthday on Saturday, thought I would go take a look. I want to drive one so badly, after not being able to rent one (under 25 myself and my parents don't use CC and couldn't pay for it with just debit card).

I got to test drive a 2ss and a 2LT a couple months ago, didnt have a problem.

I'd imagine they'll let you test drive one, but I'm sure the salesman would be going on the test drive with you.

Here in NJ I drove 1lt and 2ss. Took a copy of my lic and let me off on my own. Just asked me to try not to wear out the tires too much lol

No problems here, like Maddawg, i just let them copy my insurance card and License, and away i went all by myself. Way ive done it for years, i cant have no fun with a salesman with me, lol.

I think it depends on your age. It also helps if the salesman knows you. There are a lot of camaros sitting down on the fairway chev. lot.

of course. I test drove before ever ordering my particular Camaro.
No test drive = no sale.

My salesman just handed me the keys, he didn't come along and didn't ask to see license or insurance.

I've driven 3 at 3 different lots since August. One let me take it out alone (and I'm 23).
Never buy a car without at least one test drive.

the dealer let me drive it home for a week b4 i even buy it. But i didn't do it. Rather buy it then drive.
