I have the GMPP "touring on road" axle back system on my car ( LS3 M6 ), been on for about 4K miles now. No drone with stock exhaust manifolds and no drone with the addition of BBK shorty headers. The touring system isn't much louder than stock although it picked up some noise volume after about 1K miles but it does have a slightly deeper more pleasing tone than stock, weighs a lot less and looks much better than the 2 stock pillows stuffed up under car. Takes about 30 minutes to install so don't pay the dealer to install them. If I remember correctly mine was $650 shipped to my door.

The GMPP off road is the same as the Borla S type. I have it on my LS3 and people comment on how nice it sounds from outside. It does have a drone under light throttle between 1800-2000 rpm. System is light weight and looks good. If you do alot of hwy driving it might not be for you, but remember most systems drone. I am going to change rear end gears to raise my rpms out of the "drone zone". If you cruise under 75mph you should be fine with this system.

I don't know if the GM performance exhaust for the Camero is as they've done in the past. But if so its actually the Borla exhaust just stamped GM. Its made by Borla without any changes from if you bought the Borla performance exhaust. So if someone was to like the sound of the GM exhaust and I'm right then just go buy a Borla catback exhaust or axle back and have the exact same exhaust a lot cheaper then buying the one that says GM on it.

I had the street version and had little if no drone at cruising speed. It does get a little louder with age but not loud by any means.

I have the supposed "Off-Road" system on my A6 SS and I don't have drone at all ....
I also have the resonator replaced with an X-pipe and the AFM de-commissioned ....
My complaint is, if any .... is it is not loud enough ....
Fit and finish is excellent and install was a breeze by local muffler shop ...
But I got mine used and cheap from a buddy .... i wouldn't have gotten this system if I had to pay full rpice for it ...

i would suggest going for the subwoofer upgrade.

GMPP exhaust is way more expensive than a comparable aftermarket exhaust. I was in the same boat and I am so glad i chose not to get theirs (essentially its a borla, with a GMPP stamp on it).

In fact they wanted to charge me 1200 installed for just the axleback.

From what I hear and everyone is confirming....go off-road. The off-road is the S-type from Borla, the regular GMPP exhaust upgrade is the touring. Not much louder than stock AT ALL...but decent tone.

I personally love the S type and its not much more expensive...

For what it's worth: I bought the "performance exhaust" upgrade it is actually only an axle back system. I was quite dissapointed spending $1500 for a pair of mufflers. They sound nice, but not $1500 nice.

Does anyone have a picture of a summit white with the ground effects? I just dont know that the GFX would look that great unless I had them painted white. Would love to see a pic though.

Summit White with GFX looks awesome. See the pics of Chroma on this camaro5 link, pics about 1/3 of the way down:

As far as the GM exhaust, the on-road system is a bit louder than stock, no drone. The off-road track pack exhaust is definitely louder and meaner sounding, with a bit of drone at certain hwy speeds. Note that the off-road system can't be combined with the GFX (unless you do some custom work with the tips...).

I have GMPP on road exhaust. I really like it. A little bit louder, deeper sound. I got bumped in the back and the stock exhaust was bent. For the repairs I asked the dealer to replace so it was free. I vote for subs or exhaust, or other. GFX is a silly waste of plastic.

If the y offer headers do it. Or else, you void your warranty getting headers back.

I just installed the sub upgrade on a camaro the other day, we are using it as a demo display... I have to admit, it doesn't hit as hard as most of the aftermarket systems out there, but the sound quality is very clear and doesn't distort/overpower the speakers. It also takes off about a foot of truck space, so I wouldn't recommend it if you do a lot of traveling. Personally, if I had $1500 to drop on GM accessories, I'd choose the subs and get the dealer to throw in the aux. gauges. The gauges aren't listed in the package options, but the dealer will/should be able to make an exception. As for the exhaust systems, over priced... if you want a cheap equivalent, go SLP.
