I usually pay for the valet service and park it myself or take the daily driver.

No never. Once valet my F150 in Atlantic City they ran the tire into a curb and knocked the bead off. Then they drove down and tried to give it to me that way. Since then I have never valeted anything and never will.

Hubby and I went for a weekend getaway to San Antonio about 2 weeks after we bought our Camaro. We valeted our baby. We knew we wouldn't be needing it much during our stay because we were on the Riverwalk. The valet took EXCELLENT care of her!!! He parked her in the most remote area of the garage (only valets are allowed to park in this area) w/ a support post on one the passenger side and a he says he placed an orange cone in the parking spot on the drivers side. Not one ding or scratch----and I looked!!!!

I reluctantly did in Vegas at the MGM. Told the dude that there was extra cash if parked in good spot and no scratches/dings. Not a mark the whole weekend but kinda nerve racking to say the least.

Never. It's not just the car. It's everything inside the car as well. Heard too many stories and had bad experiences.

Since most parking valets are young males, you do the math. What do young males like to do with cars?
Besides theft of contents and possibility of door dings, I would not have a good time thinking my car was spinning donuts while I was inside a night club. |

I have once on Charlotte NC. I wasn't familiar with the area and yr valets have driven nicer cars than a Camaro. I inspect the car before and after. Not a scratch. I was impressed.

I was a valet in college and if you want, I can tell you all about the scratched up Porsche, or the stolen Excursion. Or how about the mustang my manager backed into a trash bin, so when he brought it up to the customer, he pulled up in a way that made the customer walk in front of the car so he wouldn't see the damage in the back.... so my answer is no, I wouldn't!
And if you do, always check the car before you leave the lot. Leaving the lot before claiming any damage is how you lose all your rights to claiming the valet's liability. |
