Salt, we have two daily drivers so it's just a summer toy.

Snow,Salt and Sand. I have 2(1982 CJ-7 & 2007 Z71) winter vehicles, so there is no need to drive the Camaro in bad weather.

I bought mine strictly as a 'toy' to drive around occasionally and enjoy on the weekends, etc. I have two other cars that I can drive anytime. Here in the part of Canada I live in, there is a ton of snow in winter and damn cold. Right now I bet I have close to 5 feet of snow on my front lawn (where it's been shoveled to) if not more, can barely see backing out of the driveway.

Honestly you'd be insane to drive a SS in winter, for what they cost, pick up a winter beater. The salt, general cold and careless drivers out there, why risk it?

The other reason I don't drive it much (in summer) is the fact that people are generally assholes. You park it anywhere and expect to get door dings, hand prints from someone leaning in to look inside, dust from hell (black car), bug splatters, bird shit, tree wax, shopping cart warriors at Walmart, you name it. It's a miracle it hasn't been keyed yet.

I put on close to 1000 miles (1600kms) in about 2-1/2 months from when I bought it til I parked it mid-October last year. It probably won't come out til June due to the tons of gravel the city dumps on the streets from all the ice. Streets usually don't get swept here until about then anyway.

Sucks, I would love to drive it more but the combination of Canadian weather and as mentioned, complete disrespectful idiots makes it a 'garage queen'.

I understand that. I wouldn't drive my Camaro in the snow if I had a (lesser)car to drive. In SoCal, it is mostly good driving weather so let me add that some of us, just see the Camaro as another car and it will get driven when we feel like it. It is not anything special that we let sit and hope to cash in someday. For me, the Camaro sits because I have other cars I enjoy to drive. I can also understand that some people think the Camaro is the best thing, perhaps they work hard to get the money for it, or their father used to have one and they rode in it, etc. etc. Everyday, on my 17 miles commute to work, I see at least 5 Camaros on the road with happy drivers.

Snow, Salt, Sand and rain.
she will be in the garage every time one of those happen...

may not be the best car for many people .. but for me it is !!! been the first nice car that i buy.. my second new car.. my DD is my first new car that i got in 2002 an Altima with 148k on it now.. the camaro, yes i store it in my garage but in the summer i kind of store the altima....

my goal is to keep it at low mileage and great shape so in 10 or 15 years i will give it to my son .. and will be more valuable than $$$ to me.

Well my car is only a month old I think I have 300 miles on her so far. This is just a weekend cruise car for me, maybe a few runs to the strip also. I just don't see it being a pratical daily driver for me considering how much road rash, chips, and door dings my daily vehicles get

I knew when I bought the car it wouldnt be my daily driver. The day I bought the car. I put a deposit down for cam, headers, tune, intake. Then a couple weeks later ordered rims/tires. Once the rims/tires came in I went and bought a nice little 06 honda civic for great MPG, and resale value. The camaro is a toy, and it will have all kinds of stuff done to it. I dont trust how other people drive, or how they dont care about other peoples cars, hence all the door dings and people keying others cars. I would rather them do that to my civic, if it is going to happen.

Mine is a garage queen. I bought the car to use just on weekends and after a year and a half I just hit 3000 miles on the car. I bought the car so I could enjoy it everyday when I retire. I have a take home car from work that I use everday and between that and my wife's new Equinox I could let the car sit in the garage until I finally get to retire.

It might seem silly to some of you, but this car is my dream car and I will likely keep it until I can't drive anymore. I want it to stay in excellent condition for many many years. I want to continue to be proud to own it. This is my supercar (to me it is).

Totally agree and nicely stated!! Plus the salt they use here in central IN during winter is like freaking acid.
