Agreed- Saturday IS tomorrow afterall. I would really rather see VIDEO for those going out there. I believe I read Scott is holding an "early" showing for some members here. If you are one of those lucky people, see if you can get them to turn the "house" lights off during filming so we can get a feel for the real overall effect...

I can't say I have any emotion one way or another about this development. I'd really have to see the car with lighting only on the door trim. It looks badass with the lighting, and it looks badass without it. One the other hand, it might seem awkward that the illuminated trim that wraps the car doesn't illuminate everywhere. One thing I've been thinking about doing is having custom leather done, with dark grey suede on the seats. I've also been thinking I might also have the suede applied to the trim to cover the plastic, so this development might make that decision a little more worth it.

I have never heard if the 3-point strut tower brace is being offered standard on the SS -- anyone know?
I agree on the HDRadio. Could care less about built in NAV, as long as there is somewhere to stash my Magellan.

As for the 3rd seat in the rear...Have you sat back there? I have. There isn't enough room for 3 seats. I seem to remember the specs saying that there is 46" or so of hip room in the rear. That's not much unless you are talking kids or small women.

When I first laid eyes on the concept, it wasn't just the sharp exterior styling that caught my eye, but that big swath of ABL was simply arresting. The total package just worked inside and out. When production was first announced, in my mind I was thinking that if they keep it as close to the concept as possible, I was buying that car. I wouldn't even consider anything else.

When the pricing and options were announced, I thought it was a bit much. The options list was pretty restrictive and getting a car with ABL and leather was going to require the 2LT package. I didn't want anything else that came with the 2LT, but I figured it would be worth it to get the ABL and the leather. But the price was a bit more than I wanted to pay, and that's when I started thinking about giving the competition a chance.

Now that the full ABL isn't going to be offered, I don't have any reason to get the 2LT except for the leather, and I'm not shelling out that much for just leather seats. So at the least, if I do get a Camaro, GM is getting a couple thousand less out of me. But moreso than that...the dash and door panel plastic was underwhelming IMHO, but the full ABL made up for that. Without it, the interior now doesn't have any advantage over the competition. In fact, I daresay the new Mustang's interior looks better, and the Genesis coupe could give it a run for its money.

So whereas a year ago I was going to buy a Camaro without question, all of the competition is now on the table and I'm going to drive each competitor and work from there. The Camaro still has advantages with its exterior styling and power, but pricing, options, and interior quality is dropping its stock in my eyes.
dude, you nailed it.

Hey Dragoneye

The 2SS/RS at the Toronto Auto show had the fabric inserts and they were quite disappointing. Not that I don't want to believe you, but are you sure that a 2SS will get the acrylic inserts?

It would help offset that if all you guys would be willing to pay $5K over MSRP for your Camaros.

(I know the dealers would get the extra money - not GM. No need to correct me on that.)

I see a lot of fabric inserts on 2SS's out there...if there is not going to be acrylic on the 2SS can we PLEASE at least get matching leather??? Come on GM...you can do it.

Won't it look dumb just on the doors? Seems to me it would look like a great smile missing the front two teeth. I'm not making a statement, just wondering why it would be on the doors and not in the dash. Should be the other way around, right?

I'm a 1SS guy (and just became more glad of it), so it doesn't really matter to me.

Yes, it would look weird! Which is why I don't like it, and I am scrapping the whole idea of the RS package. Oh well, makes my car cheaper right.
