You're still not 100% safe with that in TX, unless you don't have a front bumper. I believe TX law stipulates "the front most part of the vehicle" is where your front plate must be mounted. There are a lot of options out there, using a regular set of mounting screws you can center it on the front bumper and it won't look bad at all. It probably looks bad only to the owner of the car, others probably don't even notice....

Is it just me or does, or does the plate location make the Camaro look buck-toothed

What's up with those furry little bastards. I've shot 4 woodchucks from my upstairs bathroom window in the past two weeks. If only I could remember to pick up the shell casings, my wife wouldn't stay pissed at me.
And, as my sig shows, no front plate

WA law regarding license plates:
RCW 46.16.240
Attachment of plates to vehicles -- Violations enumerated.

The vehicle license number plates shall be attached conspicuously at the front and rear of each vehicle for which the same are issued and in such a manner that they can be plainly seen and read at all times: PROVIDED, That if only one license number plate is legally issued for any vehicle such plate shall be conspicuously attached to the rear of such vehicle. Each vehicle license number plate shall be placed or hung in a horizontal position at a distance of not less than one foot nor more than four feet from the ground and shall be kept clean so as to be plainly seen and read at all times: PROVIDED, HOWEVER, That in cases where the body construction of the vehicle is such that compliance with this section is impossible, permission to deviate therefrom may be granted by the state patrol. It shall be unlawful to display upon the front or rear of any vehicle, vehicle license number plate or plates other than those furnished by the director for such vehicle or to display upon any vehicle any vehicle license number plate or plates which have been in any manner changed, altered, disfigured or have become illegible. License plate frames may be used on vehicle license number plates only if the frames do not obscure license tabs or identifying letters or numbers on the plates and the plates can be plainly seen and read at all times. It is unlawful to use any holders, frames, or any materials that in any manner change, alter, or make the vehicle license number plates illegible. It shall be unlawful for any person to operate any vehicle unless there shall be displayed thereon valid vehicle license number plates attached as herein provided.

The way it was explained to me, is if you are nice to the officer, he is not required to write you up for this although he can. My Camaro did not come from the factory with the required holes for a mount, therefore it falls under this umbrella. I (try to) stay legal, and I am always courteous and friendly when speaking with law enforcement officers.

I like how legal stuff uses the word "shall" sp much. Don't they know that nobody talks like that? This isn't the UK. Why can't they just say it in plain old English?

That looks really good. I would venture to say that this is as good as it will get, this looks extremely clean and simple.

I agree this is the best one.. I looked at his wesite & it even mounts with the 2 hex screws underneath the car.. & I think the bent version looks great.. Eventually I would like to install this in place of what I have now.. But I needed a quick cheap fix to not be getting pulled over, & I got rid of that problem.. What I installed looks alot better in person than the pictures portray.. but still... turning around & seeing my car sitting at the office with a front plate on it... I feel like I've done a crime against my car!!

I like myocum's plate look. 1st time I've seen that option.

OP- Don't let the front plate bother you- it's the law. Worry more about your next beer, you know, important stuff.

I will not do ANYTHING to give the man a reason to pull me over.

Thanks Jeff..
Not to put down anyone's opinion.. But I DO NOT like getting pulled over because of using my car as a business vehicle in a professional position..
I love cars just as much as the next person.. But without my clients supporting me.. I wouldn't have such a car in the 1st place.. My job is #1.. appearance of the front of my car is distant 2nd.. I am trying to still make my car look as good as I can.. I do love it & hate doing anything to take away from it's beauty.. BUT.. It isn't a garage queen, nor a weekend warrior.. My car gets driven, & driven ALOT.. So I am trying to make the best of a situation..
