I've had my Camaro for 6 months and put 7000 miles on it. I'm only averaging 17.4 mpg. I'm lucky to go 300 miles on a tank of gas.

I'm assuming you are still in your warranty. Take it to the dealer and tell them your gas mileage has dropped significantly and have them check it out. Of course, if you have had mod's done, you might be a little bit screwed. I have 12,000 miles on mine in almost 4 months. I have no problem at all with my gas mileage. Change the oil when it tells me to change it, put gas in it when it tells me its' low. If you think something is wrong, and it is under warranty, take it in; that's what the warranty is for.

I'm surprised not one mention of checking the air filter. Many folks simply miss doing this on a regular basis.

On the V6 the oil ingestion is minimal on the normal aspirated engines I've seen.

I am with you guys, I wash my car every weekend and my exhaust tips are solid black inside. All I have is the Magnapack mufflers, magnaflow x-pipe, and CAI intake. Shouldn't be running rich should it?

I doubt it's the heat. I live in Louisiana and we have heat index days of 115 almost every day. AND we have 100% humidity. I average 24mpg mixed driving with a manual 6spd.

I have an 2010 ss ls3 and have 40k miles drive a lot of highway miles and drive 70-75 mph it says I'm geting 15-17 mpg after I refresh it a few min of going 70mph. I was mad with that even with me babying it I felt it should get more. so a few weeks back I put I'n a full tank and few days later I did the math and I came to 23.5 mpg and made me happy . So just saying can't allways trust What it says

Thanks guys. Going to take it in next week to check the richness of the exhaust, air filter, and whatever else they can think of.

I'm using exxon. Thinking of going shell to see if it makes a difference. Never considered ac either. Going to shut it of for a week to see differences. Ouch!

And thanks for the comments about you guys with good mileage in hot places. Helps me narrow things down a bit.
