Pulling fuses not necessary, but it can't hurt if you do it as long as you give the ECU plenty of time to learn the new parameters.

I have a question , maybe I am crazy but is it possible that my oil temps could drop a bit due to the air flow coming in from the front. I could swear that prior to my install of vaaram that they were a bit higher, now just a tick over 200. So has any one else noticed that or am i imagining it

Oil temps as measured on the Camaro will stay pretty close to water temps. It will run just over 200 degrees. The Vararam will not affect oil temps.

From what I understand the kits are shipping now with pre-cut brackets (contact Vararam to confirm) but with the first kits shipped you needed to cut the radiator brackets. Even with the brackets cut, you can swap back to stock in less than 30 minutes if you wanted to. I bought an extra set of brackets myself for $20 so I could put it back to exactly the way it was before install if I needed to but absolutely not necessary.

very happy with this intake, I am sure the cooler temps in ny (75 degress , low humidity) helped but the car seemed to pull way better than before when I had my airraid. I also think I never properly loaded the new trifecta tune, so did that at the same time and have the say car feels completely different. can't wait until next month when I can order the throttle body

Just installed this yesterday. Not a bad job. Only problem is that the foam part that seals to the hood has a crease in one corner from shipping and I think hot air will come through there.
I've tried adding a breathe-right strip on the back to see if it helps. |

When moving that should seal up from pressure. After being warmed a few times while inflated, so to speak, it will conform better.

Tony, curl the ends of the gasket outward - it will give you more surface area to pull air from and make it easier for it to seal correctly.

I can on the driver side, but, the passenger side is too short.

Can you not glue the trim on?

Got to the track today. Did not see the 0.3 sec that is claimed, but, I saw 0.2 uncorrected (0.1 corrected) and 1.7 MPH increase in trap speed.
Last season, I had a best of 14.7 (corrected to 14.5). This time, my best was 14.5 (corrected to 14.4). |
