CA Dragway Saturday 11-19-11

1/4 mile track is open this Saturday. $20 to race and $10 to watch. Gates open at 6am racing from 9am-5pm. Weather should be great......57 degrees forecasted. Last race of the 2011.

I know there is an autocross event happening as well. I might do both....

I was hoping to be finished with the Twin Turbo install on the Camaro to test it out but it doesn't look like I will finish in time. I can get in installed but the tune part I don't know. If I can't get it done in time I will go in the truck and test the 150 shot.

Great day to race. Weather was excellent. I ran 4x's, but had to leave at 12:45. I didn't have my best day (the track prep didn't help), but I did manage a new best ET and MPH.

First run (just feeling out the track):

13.245 @ 109.66

Second run (tried to push the car a little, but the clutch stuck to the floorboard...):

15.5XX @ 104.XXX

Third run (still tried to push the car a little more....spun tires....2.6 60 ft ):

14.4 @ 109

Last run (backed off a little, but not as easy as the first pass...bogged off the line):

The car felt strong on back 1/8th.

Like I mentioned earlier, I had to leave at 12:45. I'm sure with a couple more runs, could've managed a 12.9XXX.

BTW, I could here the autocross guys on the other side. That sounded like fun. I'll have to try that next time.

I got there really late(1:30 PM) so I only got two runs. Went in the truck since I haven't finished installing the twins on the Camaro.

Went 12.4 @ 107 but it did not feel right. Traction was difficult because the track was pretty cold.

We saw you guys when you were driving by us. Yeah track was cold. For the ones auto x'ing they were able to get in 3 or so runs back to back later on and the tires got hotter to compansate for the colder track it seems and runs were better and better

Weather was great, but you're right, traction was definitely difficult.

I'm definitely going to try autocrossing next time.
