Question for you stereo guys for recommendations on stereo setup

I have a 1SS with factory stereo and speakers. Its a non-Boston accoustics setup.
I was just wanting to keep my factory receiver but install two subwoofers in a box in the truck and have an amp.
I wanted to keep the front speakers and thought it would be best to disconnect the rear speakers.
I'm pretty sure I'll have to splice some of the rear wires that come from the receiver to the back speakers and convert them to rca so I can plug them into my amp.
I think the converter is $30 dollars
Wiring $20
Amp $100-250
2 subwoofers $???
I was wanting to spend under 500 but if I could find some used subs on craislist for 120 that would be great.
Any help would be appreciative.
Can you recommend an amp and speakers. Also I want to make sure I have the right ohms. Not sure on the facts of ohms and bridging. To simplify things I could just have just one 12inch sub with an amp.
I prefer to buy electronics new but maybe I can buy a used sub?

I think someone should make a thread about this becouse im right there with you. I am looking for a sub and amp but really don tknow the full details about all of the ohms and which is the right one to get, and if i go to a audio store i know there just going to rip me off.
