ha, my dad refuses to buy leather seats, ever. he hates how you sweat on them.
even the escalades that are heated and COOLED he refuses to buy.

but the RS is only a 1,400 option, i see no reason not to!

Actually that was the second largest selling point for me really. Though alone it's not worth the $1,200 upgrade, the HID's alone would be, the body colored ditch molding is IMHO very nice to have, it's right at eye level and add's to the sporty feel of the car. Seriously if that was not a package but a extra line item to add, and if it was on constraint I would most likely wait for it... the smoked tail lamps can be bought aftermarket later I am sure... the wheels were not a major selling point as I opted to upgrade to the 20" Polished wheels.

Because back in 1991 I had a chance to buy a BEAUTIFUL and I mean BEAUTIFUL 68 SS/RS convertible for $6,800. It was there, it was available, I had the money, I was stupid and didn't buy it. I think about that car to this day. My brother went with me to look at it. He thinks about that car to this day and wonders why he didn't buy it when I decided not to. A week later I decided yes I would buy it. As a sucker I lost out. That guy also had a bunch of Caddies, a 57 Bel Air(nice), a 55 Bel air(very, very sweet but had 2 more doors than I like), some old Lincolns and they were all for sale. He was raising money to finish restoring his 28 REO that he bought used in the 40's. His wife had been on his case for 20 years to fix it up so she could go for one last ride before they died. Don't know how it ever turned out but I hope she got many rides in it. Now is my chance to get an SS/RS. If they ever build it I will buy it.

Im not real sure why I bought it... I think I bought it just to say its an SS/RS. I could get HIDs and halos cheaper, the roof ditch moldings can be painted at any body shop, the tail lights can be tinted at any body shop and I will probably shave them anyway, and im changing the wheels so I dont really care about the midnight silver... The car is already paid for so why not order everything I can and do my part to help the econemy.

IMO, the HID's just finalize the 21'st century sports car theme. Really classy touch that I think will attract many potential buyers. The tinted tails and wheels are definitely bonuses.

It sounded like it to me.

Read this and tell me you don't infer from what he says that the RS package is only 1400 (it's only 1200 really) so why not... as in why not get it for the leather that he was just previously talking about...

I do realize the argument can be made that he is talking about them separately... if that was the case then I mis-read/understood what he was getting at... by saying "but" at the beginning of his second sentence it makes it sound as if he is attaching that statement to his previous statement about the leather...

I was just wanting to clarify so that someone else cruising through would think the RS package included leather. No big deal, those of us who have been here a while know better.

I forgot to mention the RED SS logo too... and having the RS designation from the factory.

I wanted the RS package for the HID's and darker rear lenses.
