Argh, pains me to read this. I would trademy '65 and '12 for an original A1 Boss.

How many are left in the world?

GM built 243,085 1969 camaros. Of that 243k, only 20k were Z/28's, 36K were SS, and only 69 ZL-1 were made. These are the rare collectable cars. If they are original "numbers matching", then they are very rare, and extremely valuable. And of course you need to be aware of the fact that people are restamping parts to try to make "numbers matching" cars.

Thanks for all of the feedback and complements on the ’69. I am really tore right now, but leaning towards keeping the ’69 for a couple more years and waiting until some used ZL1’s hit the market and see if there is any way to swing both. It is finically unlikely. A lot of my decision would come down to what I could get for the ’69.
The ZL1 and the ’69 are 2 completely different ball games. The ZL1 would be all about driving and performance. The ’69 is all about show and is a complete attention getter. I kind of have that with the Bug. I have attached a photo.
I think that might just keep the ’69 for now and fix the complete things that need addressed – seat covers, hide way headlights, repaint the rear spoiler (previous owner over tightened it when installing) and maybe consider some suspension upgrades. The nice thing about the ’69 is that it has only had 2 owners since 1985. Here are some more pictures. I fixed the e-brake since the pics.
It is sad because I really would love to have a new ZL1! Keeping the ’69 is a cheaper option at this point.

can't go wrong with keeping it from a finacial perspective. everybody already knows a 69 is collectable sought after car. With the ZL-1 everbody is hoping it will be but most likely it will be more like most newer cars drive really well but be worth 50% of original value down the road. I mean I look at my Z06 76k or something sticker I paid 46.7k in 2009 now it books for 43.8k but we will see what I get out of it. 5 years old ~40% depriciation from MSRP. perforamnce is rad though.

Keep the 69 Camaro! My dad and I restored a Lemans Blue 69 SS/RS around 2000. He sold the car in 2001 and has kicked himself everyday for it. We are buying a new Zl1 as we cannot afford to buy one to restore and neither of us have the time.

Don't do it! That '69 looks soooooo good! Especially with the built motor, any pics?

Original or not, hang onto it!

Remember, it will only go up in value over time!

No disrespect but the bug has been in my family for 30 years. I am just getting done building it, so it can’t go anywhere.
I think that I have been convinced to keep the ’69 ….. at least for a little while. I will address some of the things that I want to do to the Camaro and keep trying to save money for a used ZL1 down the road.
But the new ZL1 is sure sweet. I am really envious of those of you who will be taking delivery soon. I will stay on here and keep track of the ZL1’s that get delivered. Hopefully I get to see one in person SOON!

OldJedi – I love the 67 Vette! That is beautiful.
Hey Camaro2LT – Where does the Central Pa Camaro5 Club meet at? I would love to get together with you guys. Let me know.

Thanks guys!
Tim
