It also scares the crap out of you if it engages when you're in an intersection and not expecting it.

My Chevy dealer installed a skip shift eliminator for me on my brand new 1999 SS.

That looks EXACTLY like the one on my 4th gen. Looks like my Z28 is gonna be up on jackstands tonight!

How will this void the warranty?? 99% of dealers will see the plug as natural OEM specs. The ONLY thing I can see this voiding the warranty on is the actual solenoid.

Cant deny your warranty for shifting gears.

It's ironic how accurate that spelling error is.

I'd bet that it works - Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but itsnt this the same MN6 tranny that they've been using in the vette (and maybe even the 4th gen Camaro)?

If so then I guarantee that it works since I had it installed on my Vette with the MN6.

Even if it doesn't work for some reason, I guarantee they'll get a new one produced soon.

i wouldnt disconnect anything i have skipt shift on my TA it really just allows you to jump gears, but you can do that anyways. In this case the computer is just telling you thats an optimal time you dont have to do it. leave it alone.

It sounds like you have the skip shift ELIMINATOR on your TA. I'm planning on taking it off my Z28 and putting it on my 2010. When skip shift is enabled it fully locks out 2nd & 3rd gear, not just telling you when would be best time to manually skip the gears.

(With the eliminator installed, the skip shift light still comes on but doesn't physically lock out the gears. - that's probably what you're seeing)

If the light comes on and you can shift to 2nd or 3rd you either have the eliminator or the solenoid is broke.

I have it on my Formula as well. It sucks to be forced out of 2nd and 3rd gear. I like to take it easy most of the time but going from 1st to 4th just doesnt feel right. I usually shift 1-3-6 while in the city and I pull around 19 MPG while doing it.

Skip shift is worthless IMHO. Its dangerous sometimes too.
