How restrictive is the air intake system or the air filter. could a simple drop in on the SS sneak out a couple more MPG?

I averaged around 30-31 mpg on the highway- driving at 65-
When i get one the streets i average around 22-23 mpg Oh yea i have a 1SS Manual Heres a pic of driving on the freeway for a bit of time |

Wow that's great! I can't say that my '04 A4 Convertible 1.8T gets much more to the gallon.

32.4 mpg highway with V6 with auto 65 mph
around town about 24 mpg

getting 17.5 average w 175 miles on the car, mostly city and I most certainly do not have a light foot
