20" & 21" For keeps?

Question: If you have purchased the RS package and you have also added on the 21" Wheels, Do you get to keep both sets? I know in the past the Dealers offered upgrades therefore giving you one set, but on my order slip it shows up as 21"'s is a dealer installed after the added price. Which means that they come to the dealer with stock wheels! not to mention the price for the RS wheels is still there? So my question remains do they let you keep the stock wheels as well as your added 21"s? or do they take off the added 500$ for the RS wheels?

Note: I know Taking off money off this car is not in their nature right now just thought I'd ask.

you wont get both rims its just like anything else. Its the same thing with the RS on the SS, the ss has everything the RS has minus the lights, and its only like 300 cheaper than getting the RS on the LT's. Your paying for that option. I dont like that option due to the price. If it was more towards 1000 i would have thought about. Another thing to think about is the tires on the 21inch are double in price at about 500 a tire, remember the tires on either rim will only last 15k tops they are rated at 20k mi tires. Have these tires for years and they only last 10-15k mi on these cars. So you will either being spending 2000 grand for tires or 1000 up to you

for $4000, i'd believe you get to keep the original wheels... but i could be wrong (hopefully not!)

ps - the SS also lacks the MS wheels & painted roof ditch moldings.

I agree for the money we pay 4K for the option we should get the factory wheels! I mean it is on the PO as a purchased item. Not to mention it shows as dealer install...what is the deale gonna do resell the factory wheels? lol I hope i can be another lucky SOB #27. I asked when i put the PO in if because it says dealer install i get to keep the stock wheels? The guys says "i believe that is how we are handling it" so i will play on that

standard SS wheels are a painted silver finish
SS/RS & LT/RS are the only cars with midnight silver wheels
SS, SS/RS, & LT/RS have the option of upgrading to polished 20s

If you want both sets of wheels (and who wouldn't), just don't order the upgrade through GM/dealer. Take the SS with the "stock" wheel package and go out and buy the 21" wheels/tires when the car gets here. I think there was a cost analysis a few weeks back. The GM price for the 21" isn't terrlbly out of line, but you can get the 21" package for $400 or so less and have both sets. If you pay the $4800 through the delaer, I would guess most of them are going to keep the stock wheels unless you throw a pretty big fit.

Randy gets to keep his. If they are charging you 4000.00 then you want the old wheels and tires. If they are not going to give them to you I would cancel the 21".

YES. You get to keep the stock wheels. I've allready seen my 21" wheels at the dealer. I made sure they put it in writing before I ordered a car with them. If you need proof just look at a window sticker of someone who ordered them and you'll see BOTH sets of wheels on the sticker.

In fact here is mine. Both sets show up and I've confirmed this with others who have bought them.

Doesn't matter if you order them seperate or with your car as you can see.

If you order the 21" wheels you get TWO sets of wheels. The stocks and the 21s.
If you don't then someone stole them from you.

You Sir have just made my DAY

I figured as much. The dealer syays that they have never done this type of wheel deal because all of the Vette's come with the wheels on already so no need to add any. But i saw it was added on the PO as a purchased item and wit the 21"s being 4k thee is no way they can hold onto both.

NICE

My question is: Why don't you guys ever ask your dealer these questions instead of asking here? Or ask them about that detail before you order a package?

I mean we have dealers on here who last minute try to get you to pay $5000 extra as a 'market adjustment', so you better make damn sure you get things like this in writing. Cause I am sure there are gonna be some out there who try and take your rims; and then we'll have another 'GM SUCKS' panic du jour thread, and we've all had enough of those.
