SS or LT
I noticed a lot of people on here are getting LT Camaros.Personally,I cant see buying a camaro unless its a SS.So just out of curiosity how many people out there are planning to get a SS,and how many would be just as happy getting a LT?

I drove both a v/6 1LT and a v/8 SS yesterday for sale at a dealer. Believe me the heavy solid sound (rumble) of the SS is worth the extra money. The SS in my opinion has a more solid overall feel. If you can afford it, order the 2SS/RS. Dealers 1LT MSRP is at $27,300.00. The 2SS/RS is at $37,600.00. The difference is a lot of money.

I say only settle for the LT if you absoltely can't afford an SS. There is no replacement for displacement. Just remember V6's don't have the rumble & the V6 in the Camaro will go about 14.2 in the quarter versus the LS3's high 12's. But ultimately itdepends on what you can afford. The LT's are still very nice cars.

I'm getting a 1LT. My street racing days are over, so I think I will be very happy with it. I never would have considered a V6 Camaro until I heard about the great new advanced V6 engine. I can see some suspension mods in the near future and maybe a few bolt ons. I just don't really need a car with 426HP, and a very strong V6 with good mileage should fit the bill.

I bought the 2SS, but if I were buying it for my kid to drive.... it would be a V6!

I think the LS makes a lot of sense for the average consumer. Great engine, great gas mileage, regular gas. I think the dealers will have lots of them, sometime in the future. Remember, CAFE is out there rearing it's ugly head.

As far as the speed/performance increase, I don't really car. I am done going fast and the V6 would go as fast as I want to. Like I said though, I need the sound! |

Cyber Gray Metallic 1SS here. Because I can. I love the sound and ready power of a V8.

LT is more logical from the money side and if your driving it everyday. SS is performance minded. I mean V6 really makes more sense if you really sit down and think about it

Guys who want to drive it 12 months a year are going for the v6 or people who cant afford the v8. Its a personal choice really. What good is it you stretch yourself too far and have to sell it later cause the payments are killing you. If this was the mustang or challenger no way in hell i would consider to v6 but dam GM did bang up job on this v6 its awesome. Myself i was thinking 2LT RS then thought i might wait even a few more years and buy a used 2SS but it would take some serious willpower to pull that off. Only downside of it u will never get that v8 sound you are after u simply cant on a v6.

If this was to be my only car. I would go with the LT, since I drive 38 miles each way to work every day.
THe SS wouldn't workin that case. However, since this is my weekend Therapy car, I went with the most I could afford.

Need a cruiser, not a track car. Besides, the V6 would sway me from getting 'more' tickets than the V8. At my age it's about the show and less 'go'.
Funny, I have'nt seen any Camaros, let alone SS driving around. Is the gas prices keeping the V8s in the garage? |

there just isnt any out there, gas is still at a reasonable price.
