Old GM paint options
Thought this was cool and thought I'd share it.
I think you could have chosen to have a 67 in these colors

Very close but not all of those were available on the Camaro and some of the names were different, i.e. "C" code is called "Ermine" not "Provincial" white and oddly no silver/grays available. THREE different blues, two turquoise, and no silver or gray?!?!?!?! I guess the old blues are now the new grays, or something like that.

I thought I was remembering the old days were more colourful, vehicle wise than it is today. I look around a supermarket carpark these days, to see a sea of silver, grey, and black.:( My rally yellow tries desperately to buck the trend.

This could be a pretty interesting thread
I have the chip book pages plus the undercoat/sealer/primer page for GM 1970 models, I'll see if I can't get them scanned. Got them at a swap meet years ago. Martin Senour paints. There were 17 different undercoats for 1970 models. I don't think we have 17 color choices today

give me black all day, I know I am in the minority. Nothing looks as stunning as a deep reflective black at night in the city. heck it looks like you could walk right into the paint on a bright sunny day in july. I own silver because I got a great deal on the car but I long for black!!

I am with you JSHAF. My 2012 is IBM bc I got a deal. It is a great color but the '67 is getting done in Tuxedo Black and I wouldn't have it any other color.

I wanted a nice bright blue for my Camaro. I was really pissed at the lack of color choices for a car I was paying a hell of a lot of money for, and couldn't get what I wanted.
Then I went home and looked at my 1976 Lincoln brochure. 26 paint colors, 20 vinyl top colors, 20 interior colors, and 20 pinstripe colors. All available to be mixed and matched as you wished. |
