I do hope they build the Z/28. I probably couldn't afford it though.

the bumblebee does look a bit too rice like. yes GM high performance division is gone but apparently the Z28 has been completed already. they need to just send it to production so as to not have wasted all the money spent developing it

holy crap the new vette looks awesome...anybody know if it will actually look like that? i might consider getting that instead...
but in film motion the new bumblebee doesn't look that bad honestly...it does look more like a tranformer...either way i'm not getting a camaro till the convertible comes out...we'll see what engine options exist by then and if that corvette actually comes out

The plans for Z28 are there and have been there since the beginning. They are currently on hold. Not progressing as of yet.

This goes out to everyone comparing the Z28 to the GT500. Never has a Z28 been designed to compete with a GT500. Learn your classic muscle cars. The GT500 faced stiff competition from the ZL1 or other high-performance cars. Allow me to provide some definitions.
• Super Sport (SS, Z27)—a Chevrolet product tuned for performance with options, powered by a high-displacement V8 or a class-leading engine with less cylinders; may represent the top unlimited production trim of any car in the Chevrolet lineup except the Corvette • Z28—the RPO code after Z27; a track-oriented Camaro, designed based upon tuning from track environments and featuring a more stripped set of options than the SS; traditionally contains a low-displacement V8 that may offer similar performance numbers to the SS on a dyno • ZL1—high-performance Chevrolet marque; competes above any SS • ZR1—a brand given to the Corvette that competes among supercars; not necessarily limited to Corvettes but definitely limited to supercars • Mustang GT—direct competitor with the Camaro SS • Mustang GT500—Shelby-owned brand that represents the current top performer in the Ford lineup; competes above the Camaro SS but not in the same market as any Corvette All of that being said, I will be happy to see a Z28. If one is announced soon, I will either get one or make a Camaro SS that can beat one. I'm very happy to see that this is a real possibility.

Yeah, I really want that hood or the Nickey Stinger hood.
Don't get your hopes up guys, they may be referring to that hood as the "Z28 hood" because of speculation from people that the TF2 BB is the Z28 Camaro.

You're right, Blur. The GT500 and the Z28 are not natural competitors. GM has gotten themselves lost in an alphabet soup and things are not what they should be. To me a Z28 should be lighter, better handling, maybe with slight smaller diameter, more race-friendly wheels. Maybe even put the LS7 in there due to the nature of the engine more closely matching the philosophy of the car (and hey, it's still a "Small block").
I can't nitpick too much, I'm just glad the car came out. I hope they survive so I can get one! |

The only Camaros Ive ever owned were Z28s because Ive liked them so much. I really hope they make the 5th gen a Z28 as well. I think itll be another step in the right direction for GM. But if they dont, at least we got the car back.
