yes it can be done. One coat of plastic primer, three coats of duplicolor victory red and two coats of high temp clear coat like the engine paint.

Question is.... Can you paint or powder coat the factory coil packs??

Pics would be nice if you have had either done and how well have they held up?
Yes they can be painted. I wouldnt powdercoat them, if u are familiar with powder coating process, you would know where i am coming from.

Removing them is easy since they are on brackets, its a matter of unclipping the power connectors, and unscrewing the coil pack brackets.

Get yourself some high temp paint (like the g2 caliper paint is a great example) its a very vibrant color and it stands out great. Its a brush on style, not aerosol, and the curing time is about 24 hours or so. Just make sure you dont get paint on the electrical connections or the heat-sinks if applicable.

Have at it, I'm doing that this weekend.

no sanding, but I did spray some adhesive promotor on them first. I did finish up with 2 coats of clear to keep the shiney.

I wouldn't drop an electrical part in to a vat of liquid and expect it to work properly after.

They are sealed and they are in the elements now, you can wash under your hood fine. I would agree on a non sealed part

They are sealed when installed because of the connections on either end. Covering it up to be submerged in liquid is possible but not a good idea, at least I wouldn't do it with mine. There is a big difference between immersing something in water and some gentle spray from cleaning and rain.

Paint is your best bet in my opinion. Treat it like anything else - prep it, sand it, some high temp paint and you're good. Do not powercoat them, I doubt they'd survive the heat.
