Probably on Saturday. Not working for once.

got the news that the Navy finally is getting rid of the stickers! one more month and i can take those damn eyesores off |

Ozzy I need advice. Your build inspired me to go ahead and considered the hex hood vents. How much did you get them for ? What website ? Any discount codes ? I found them in phastekperformance for $375 plus $10 extra for having a strut tower . Do they really work if it rains!? How much dirty does your engine bay gets??? Did u get the vents that work with strut tower!? And how long for install ? |

Lio,
I ordered my vents from hexvents.com, they're a vendor here as well. If you've got a coupon code from phastek you might come out ahead. I don't keep my guards in, only when i wash the car...as for how much dirt gets in the bay, I really can't tell ya. I keep her in the garage all week, so my car stays pretty clean overall anyway. Time required...IIRC, it took me about 4 hrs, I think? I took my time, and a liberal amount of breaks as well, so your time may vary. The instructions provided with them are very well-written and easy to follow if you watch the install video on their site beforehand. |

In other news - I finally got my last halo from AAC!! only, ya know, THREE MONTHS LATER. jeez, that was an ordeal...i wrote them every other week at a minimum, and it was always "i hope we get more in soon" until i finally wrote them a nasty-gram last week. I was being told that they didn't have the correct size to send me, but the one in the box tonight looks like it's right. I went to the garage and put it up in front of my headlight, and it looks like I should be good to drop the bumper and FINALLY finish this project this weekend!

Well...somehow I found out about the pre-sale on the pfadt tri-Y headers, and floridaspeedandpower still had them on sale...so it looks like I've got headers coming
I liked everything I read about them, and the sound clip...and there was a free shipping option (a big consideration for the island). Just hope I don't wind up with orders to California for my next duty station! |

oh, i also spent the day working on the car, since this is my first day of leave in a while...removed my center console and saw that my drill bit into the wiring harness for the yaw sensor, not the sensor itself. it broke one of the wires right behind the terminal, so i need to get a new harness/terminal. my dad is looking into it for me tomorrow when he goes into work. if the damage was a little cleaner, i'd probably try to rebuild it myself, but since i'll be out of the country travelling for a little while anyway, i'll go this route instead.
also found some wire loom at o'reillys earlier when i went to get more electrical tape, and cleaned up the look of the wires for the front end lighting in the engine bay and beneath my control box. tomorrow i'm going to try to finish wiring my abl to the 3 way switch and reinstall the console |
