Coloring your stiches with a Sharpie?
Has anyone colored in their stiches using a permanent Sharpie pen or know someone who has? I found a thread last night from people who used fabric markers and paint pens for there leather seats/shifter/steering wheel etc... but I have cloth seats and was thinking about doing it with a Sharpie that has the fine pen point on it. Someone please let me know if you've done this yourself or know someone who has or can guide me to a thread about someone who has colored in their cloth seat stiches. I really want to change my white/stone colored stiches to Red. Thanks!!!

I used the paint pens on mine.... I know some folks used em on the fabric as well but you have to be very patient. Sharpie may work as well.

Never seen anyone do it with a sharpie but plenty of people have done it with a Dye pen. If you search for it on the forum there most likely is a DIY on it.

Awesome! Thanks a lot. The wifey is out of town tomorrow night so I think I'll stop by the store tonight so I can come home after work tomorrow and knock this out while she's gone. |

How would u keep the pen from dying the seats? I have black leather and if I did red wouldnt it show up kinda on my seats? Do u just have to do it carefully? Or does it wape away?

I did it with a fabric pen on my leather seats, but I know that guys with fabric have done it as well. You just have to be extra careful, it is definitely doable, just time consuming

Hey, check out this thread, some have even posted quick videos of how they did it. I found it last night but everyone I saw had leather seats. The reason for my post is because I have cloth so I'm trying to find out the best method to do mine. But since you have leather from everything I read last night it's a simple process for you because all you have to do is mark a couple inches and then go over the leather with a damp cloth to remove it from the leather and it doesn't remove from the stiches when you do so. Some also posted you can use a leather cleaner to remove excess and it comes right up. |

You're welcome! Sweet...you're going to love it. Such a cheap and easy mod but it is time consuming but I like listening to music and doing projects like this. I got the front of my car done last night and I'll finish the rest this weekend. It looks really good already! I'm very pleased. Thanks everyone who posted on my thread and helped!
