Painted or Vinyled Steering Wheel Chevy Emblem and SS

I have spent about 45 mins searching the boards, looking to see if anyone has done this type of mod. I want to rid my steering wheel of the gold and either go black or red. Also thinking about painting the inside of the "SS" on the steering wheel. Thought I saw a few pics of the Chevy emblem, but I must be "Search Impaired". Any pics would be appreciated. Thanks...

I plasti-dipped mine. All you need to do it tape off the emblem and put a plastic bag on the steering wheel. 1/2 hour and 3 coats later you are done

I have 10' and painted the SS red. Used a small pin to pick the original paint off and used a shaved tooth pick to paint inside the letters. Also used a pair of magnifing glasses to see way better.

i did mine with a sharpie. won't peel like vinyl and did it freehand, so no taping anything off. very clean. the picture shows it after the first coat. in direct sunlight, a little gold would shine through, so I put an additional coat on every few days for a few weeks. It's got a nice satin finish now and it's held up for well over a year.
