Replacing Driver's side seat cover 2011 2SS

I have a question regarding replacing the leather driver's side seat cover in my 2011 camaro.

I am concerned about the side airbag. I received my replacement cover from Maureen last night. In looking at it, it appears the existing airbag will slip into the harness in the cover.

Is this assumption correct, for those that have done this?

My plan is to see if I can remove the cover with the seat in the car (suspect I cant but will look).

In doing this I assume I can disconnect the seat at the harness underneath. This should make the airbag safe and I can proceed.

Any additional advice?
