I need help getting tree sap stains off my car!?!?
Xmas Eve I was washing my car and noticed water running off my hood kind of funny and as I looked closer I saw there were 2 separate spots that had tree sap on my hood. I removed what I could by just using my finger nail to try and get underneath the sap but obviously I couldn't get it all. I used clay to get the remainder off and it seemed to do the trick because the spots were no longer sticky but as you can see in the pictures it has left behind some pretty nasty blemishes.
Has anyone ran into this problem before? What can I do to get those blemishes removed? I'm pretty new to detailing and even caring about trying to make a paint job look good for this is my first nice vehicle I've ever owned. Someone at work suggested using some gasoline on those spots? |

I use 70% isoprylic alcohol. Then rinse. Clay bar. Then re-seal and wax.

If everything else fails--
Just kidding!!! Try the diluted alchol (don't go straight 100%) and then reclay and rewax. If it's etched, you may need some professional help. Be careful.

Thanks so much for your advice!
I was super busy over the weekend and never got around to this but even after letting it sit since I noticed it last week the Turtle Wax Bug & Tar Remover got it right up! I was amazed!!! During my lunch break at work I went to the auto parts store and picked up the remover. I sprayed it over the areas and let it sit for a minute as directed and when I whipped, it came right up! If you are someone reading this post and you have the same problem I had I definitely recommend getting Turtle Wax Bug & Tar Remover to get your stains up! |

Glad it worked for you, just an FYI, don't get it on hard plastic. The Turtle Wax remover will stain the plastic.

FYI put some sealant/ wax on top to protect against future blemishing. I use Adams Super Sealant but any will do

A clay bar will take that right off too. Just be sure to use a lot of detailer for lubrication.
