92 z28 Electrical
Question for some guru. Went to start my 92z a couple months ago to move in the garage and the fuel pump didn't kick on. Leads you to believe it needs the typical fuel pump, but I hit the trunk button and when I go to close it...goes half way down and won't release or lock.
Does this seem like a weird coincidence or electrical issue? I've read it could be a fuse by the batter or a fuel pump relay fuse for the fuel but the rest seems weird. I checked all the fuses in the cabin and they're fine. Thoughts/ideas appreciated.

Check the fuse by the battery. it's literally right there between the battery and the overflow tank.
Check your wires, and battery cables. the small wire coming off the battery corroded on me and it wouldn't flow enough power for the fuel pump. Also check your fusible links. I'm not sure what electrical problem you'd have to have to only have a fuel pump and rear hatch release issue. Are there any other issues?

Bad ground for the rear harness maybe? I had put a new pump in my S-10 by lifting the bed and had to disconnect the harness. After replacing pump I keyed on the truck to test it and stressed for a moment when it didn't work. Then it occurred to me about the ground, bolted it back up and viola running fuel pump!
Any critter problems that maybe they could have chewed it or something? |
