Talking to ADM about the gt 11 cam with heads. Thoughts and are heads worth it? 1000 dollar difference.

If you're going to go H/C, look no further than GPI. Rhino79 is the VVT guru. 11's are easy with a L99. How deep into the 11's do you want to go? Pretty much any of his cams will get you in there. If you want to go all out, he can give you the recipe for 10's.

If you do decide to get a cam I would not recommend the GT11. It is built on LSK lobes and has very high lift. In other words it's harder on the valve train then most other street cams. Brian Tooley a valve train expert guru and even COMP themselves don't recommend a cam built on LSK lobes for street use. No matter what anyone says don't use 15w-50 oil either in a stock short block LSx. In fact if you decide to get the cam/heads I would recommend getting a VVT cam package from GPI and having a longer road trip. If you decide to go the supercharger route I'm sure ADM will do you great.

I used to live in Odessa, the DA is not good there. I had a GT500 that would hit 14lbs in Houston. When I moved to Odessa I was lucky to see 11lbs, car felt much slower. So the supercharger will suffer too from the elevation unless pullied down.
May want to look into a turbo kit or nitrous. Turbo kit will spool to whatever boost it set for and nitrous wont be affected much by elevation. A turbonetics kit can be had under $6k right now and you could probably install yourself. |

Just look at WHO has gotten the most L99s in the 11s without a cam.
You wanna go fast go with a VVT cam.

SC would make more power in general, be a better, more reliable daily driver without any mpg lost. It would be easier to smog if that's a concern. Also, if you ever decided to sell the car or the SC it would be easier and bring more money than a used cam and heads.
