Question Will this speedometer fit?

Hello all!
I want to do the LED mod to my speedometer, But I don't want to mess up my stock one. 90% of all the speedometers/ tachometers I find used are for the V8s. Would a V8 speedo fit a V6? also would the mileage stay the same or would it reflect the donor speedo? ANY help would be appreciated. Thank you!

If you replace your speedo you need to have the new one programmed with the correct mileage, and VIN. Also if you just replace it w/o programming then it, the new one becomes inoperable after 5 miles.

Good to know. So should I replace the LEDs before or after programing? Would the dealer even re program it if I modified it?

They could be a problem with replacing a v8 to a v6 dash. The v8 has a 180 mph face and the v6 has a 160 mph ace. The speed may be incorrect. The spacing will be different. It could be reading 50 but actually you are only doing 47. Reprogramming will not change that.
Some one has done that and reported that the speed did align right.

Ok. I still want to change the LEDs. But it is a project for way in the future.

Just search salvage yards there are more V6 camaros on the road then V8 I'm sure it's like 4 to 1 or more shouldn't be to hard to find a V6 cluster
