Yes they will replace the fob with a key, but they have to swap out the ignition for the key to fit. This is why you will have to leave your car, it's not a "5-10min." job.

What about the door, glove box, and vert trunk release? Need to change all then or wind up with two keys.

In five years not once did my knee touch the key or steering column including while off road testing!!

If that is the reason for this recall, drivers, whose knee or other body part might hit or contact the fob, should have their car serviced for safety!

GM received complaints on this a year ago and failed to act ..............until the Congress stating asking lots of questions

There are other problems with our cars and dealers have orders to say : OH that s normal

I don't see that happening. Not to my car. I'll take my chances. Lol

I'm 6'4'' and sit with the seat all the way down and all the way back so my legs are pretty much straight when I drive there is no way my knee is going to hit the fob and shut the engine off. GM is taking a lot of heat lately from the government and it's just covering its ass. I love my switch blade key fob and I'm keeping it GM can stick its keys. If they want to recall something try starting with the Manuel transmission!!!

i am keeping my key as well. if they can install a key like the bmw has that u put in, hold break, and push to start. then I will change it. but safety first right. will see what happens. first gm has to deal with my whole engine bay and trunk getting repainted that is costing them $3750 to do and still in discussions if factory warranty will cover it or not. so yea....
