I have an IWB holster. If it's not on me, it fits in the center console.

I carry iwb at about 4 or 4:30, even with the seat belt on just lean forward for access. Still quicker than the console or glove box, maybe not as comfortable though. Especially a 1911, but I figure you got to have enough firepower to handle most situations.

There are a number of holster choices, some that drive a lot have gone with a cross draw holster. A quick access holster mounted in the car is good, but you are always fiddling with the firearm getting in and out. I subscribe to the belief that you should never leave a firearm unattended in the car, so you are always moving/fiddling with it.

I agree, but some places you just can't take it with you. When that occurs, I have to stick it in my glove box - it won't fit anywhere else in the Camaro. I need to get a smaller pistol.
