yeah well a stang owner better have deeper pockets as he has four cams to change....lol. Really the l99 needs a tune to wake up the auto trans and ditch the throttle delay, and a better exhaust would help too.. mustangs always come factory more low flow mufflers if you listen to their exhaust for their engines which dwarf ours as they are big as the engine bay can squeeze in due to the dual over head cams. I for one love my ls3 engine.

The GT/CS Mustang 5.0 engine remains the same delivering 420 horsepower and 390 lb.-ft. of torque. M6. The camaro has 426hp and 420 lb-ft. of torque.. and the 14ss 1le has seen to make 400 rwhp stock on the dyno.. also the 1le has 3.91 rear gear. My car weighs 3860. dont forget about the electronic steering adds a lil more hp for the 1le. all these factors might be whats making me pull on him.. it isnt by much but a win is a win and to hear some camaro's are getting smoked by stock 5.0's i dont understand it. and the only reason the L99 is quicker is because its an AUTOMATIC.... it will sit there and you just floor it.. wow so much fun huh? for us manual guys its a PITA and if you dont get it just right, its a fail.

I hate that the 5.0 is faster. the 2015 stangs have even more hp and tq and is STILL a 5.0L engine. why didn't they just do that from the beginning? we know they can. Now chevy has to upgrade the camaro to compete and probably with the same 6.2L engine. again I will wonder WHY they just didn't put that work into it before?!! Why can't chevy make a 6.2 with more hp than the 5.0. I think they do this on purpose

If manufacturers put in everything they could decades ago, where would we be now and what would be the point of new cars? Technology develops, regulations change, new ideas in performance come out, deer eat the grass we eat the deer and the circle of life continues.

Like I said, the only reasons the 5.0 wins is because of weight, gearing, and the driver.

Do you think an L99 2SS Camaro weighs the same as an LS3 1SS stripper without heated and leather seats? Camaro weighs fluctuate +/- 100 lbs based on options and transmission. The NPP option further skews the issue. Like I originally said, 200-400 lbs depending on options. It varies wildly. One thing is certain: the 5.0 manual in question is way lighter than the Camaro L99.
