Anyone leasing the Z/28

I went to the dealer to check out a Z/28 and asked about leasing. The sales manager immediately said, " The residual will be horrible. You are better off buying." Later on my contact at the dealer said there are no leases on the Z/28.

Fact or fiction?

Probably true. The car is going to be sold in such low numbers there probably are no real lease programs on it.

I almost leased mine, but ultimately decided against it seeing as I would be tracking the car. The lease payment was surprisingly good for the MSRP I thought. Camaro's have very very strong residuals.

Ally, or GM financial. GM has been steering their subvented finance rates and leases to GM financial from what my friends in the business have been telling me so your probably going to find the best "deal" through them.

I'm surprised they even have programs on the Z/28. They may have been tooting your horn a bit. They didn't really have lease programs on the ZR1 Vette when I was selling Chevys and this is a more limited production car. Good luck!!

Why lease a $70k track car? This is foolishness if you ask me.

Because just like any other lease you can return it at the end of the term, hassle free and on to the next one.

Depends on your preference and situation though.

Fellow in Calgary Alberta leased a white Z28. Good company write off? Who knows?

Yup, and it would be a good decision too, since leasing goes by the mileage. I highly doubt anyone is going to be tracking a z28 and putting 10,000 miles on it. I'd be surprised to see 2k in a year with tracking involved.

For us poor folk, I wish this car was a little less than $75k. At this point I would stick with a 1LE, almost half the price.

You can technically lease anything you want, just won't be as cheap as say a factory supported lease. I do remember when I bought mine in June there was a supported lease but it looks like that is not available anymore from my contacts at my dealer.

I have ADD when it comes to cars so I decided it wasn't a smart decision to lease it if I only keep it a year or year and a half. Everything is for sale for the right price.

A dealer can't lease a car unless there is a supported program from a bank. It has to go through a financial institution.
