89 turbo build??

Im looking to turbo a 89 camaro... Its a 383 with. 9.5.1.comp. it has 500hp to the crank. I dont know speciffics on the internals because its my cuzins car. its carburated as of right now plans to change to FAST’s EZ-EFI, version 2.0. Just wondering what is the best turbo set up to go with? a detailed list would be greatly appreciated. Hes looking to spend up to $5k on the setup... is that reasonable or should he be looking at more?

If he wants to pump gas I can tell you he either needs to lower the compression or he'll be lucky to run 10 psi on pump gas.
Edit: Just thought, or he could switch to E85

All your answers should be in here.

It's hard to tell who's who on a forum. Sounds like you got a sweet car! Always liked them VR4's. Always beat the SL'S but couldn't touch a VR4.

You check out either of them videos?

Or you could use a highly efficient intercooler, and methanol injection. XS POWER has a kit for 3rd generation f-bodies , but I question the quality. Banks makes the best quality stuff that I have seen but it's expensive ... ATP turbo has a great selection of quality parts at good prices if you have the capability to build your own system. Sounds like fun! AWD is an unfair advantage by the way...
